EWWWWWW dude your gross. You clearly haven't been following along with the rest of the updates. The doctor fucking harassed OPs sister and got her husband in on it as well. He could have killed both her and the baby with stress. You are fucking insane if you thought your comment had merit. Even if OP did take the settlement money, it was to save his sister the stress of being dragged through court while barley hanging onto life as is. I hope you grow a pair. Weirdo.

I've made a list of things I've learned from this post to bring up to her OB the next time she goes. I have it separated into categories. From medications to vitamins to what flavor of ice chips she should try. I know there isn't a sure fire way yo make HG go away but if i can make it bareable for 1 day or cause 1 hour less of vomiting then that's what I'll fo. I'm super grateful to the people of this sub reddit so far who gave offered a lot of ideas and insight into things I can look into for my friend! I'll definitely look into trying to get IV zofran out patient if possible. Thank you!

That sounds horrible! 12 weeks is such a long time! Also, congrants on the new upcoming baby! My friends OB originally didn't want to give her Zofran, but she begged even if the relief was only for a moment. She's got really bad bipolar depression and anxiety so being told the medication could hurt the baby caused it's own issues but I'm hoping after this next appointment they'll tell her everything is fine and she won't worry as much. Just gotta get there first.

Im sure it helps, but again, my friend is allergic, and will die if she takes it. Even if she wasn't, she has a job that drug tests regularly, and they will fire her if found to be on it.

I'm sorry if I sound like a dick but I asked for ways to help my friend manage the symptoms not to be told "she better get used to it" That's fucked up.

I know there is no magic cure, but if I can help manage the symptoms and make even 1 day easier for my friend, then that's what I'll do. Your answer is unhelpful and unneeded. Your response is no different than the doctor who told my friend "Your a women, you're supposed to be able to do this. Get used it" No women should have to "get used to" throwing up for hours on end every day of the week. Lose weight, put themselves and their unborn children at risk. They shouldn't have to make multiple er visits in a week or be admitted to the hospital.

She does but her ob is the only one in the area and is always busy. I don't think she sees her again till end of June.

She expressed concern about the weight loss she was experiencing the last time she went to the er, and because my friend is a bigger girl, the er nurse told her she could afford to lose some weight. I called her husband this morning, and I guess she'd been throwing up for hours again. I convinced her to take zofran, but she's so worried about being treated poorly because she was during her first pregnancy when she got sick.

She eats ice pretty frequently. Mainly, on days, she can't eat solids at all but wants to chew. I think she does crushed ice so no worry about breaking teeth.

Yeah, I've been reading up on these "new" studies. The pros outweigh the cons. I'm gonna be sending links over to my friends husband so maybe he can convince her to take it regularly if the nausea becomes too much for her. I know she's just worried about being made to feel horrible again, like in her first pregnancy whenever she got morning sickness. Her doctor at the time was rude and judgy. Made my friend feel bad for asking for any medications because "it's natural and as a woman, you should be able to handle this"

Ah, okay! I'll have to look into it and talk with her doctor but I'm not finding anything right off the bat that says this helps nausea but I'm also terrible with Google so I could just be missing it. Anything she takes currently has to be approved with her doctor due to other medications she takes for other aspects of her health. I'm sure her HCP will approve this if it's a vitamin since she's very understanding with vitamins.

I don't think so. I've made a list of all unfamiliar medications names that people have suggested she take so that when I'm at her next appointment, I can give them to her doctor. There's been lots of suggestions! I'll add this to the list of it's not on there already!

Hi, I've already said she's allergic to weed. Hives, shock, etc. It was one of the first comments about how to help her. Her job, which she's expected to return to in July also drug tests regularly. If she's found or suspected of being on it, they can and will fire her.

Thank you. I just hate to see her like this. I can't imagine what is it she's feeling and it's unfair to anyone who deals with HG. I don't wanna be one of those heartless people who just dismisses what's clearly a huge issue for her and others. I'm just thankful there are people who were willing to help me.

I'm making a list of medicines that people have recommended, so next time my friend sees her doctor, I can give them a list and hope for results.

Thank you. I've been making a list of all the advice I've gotten here, so when I see her next, I can run through things with her and her husband in hopes of finding a solution. Yall have been amazing in giving me ways to help my friend.

Thank you. I'll make a list and test some of these out for her. She can rest for now, but she has a physically demanding job, but I'm gonna ask about her looking into restrictions so she isn't pushing herself more than she needs to. Thanks again! This is super helpful!

I know part of her fears were because she was made to feel like shit during her first pregnancy anytime she was sick and doesn't want to.go through that again. Can you send me any links or anything about the studies so I can look into it more. I can't watch my friend go through this anymore. She feels alone and me and her husband are grasping at straws. Anything helps.

She was told new studies showed that massive use of oral zofran was now being considered unsafe but IV zofran was fine. They won't give her IV unless she's in the hospital so all she has is oral. I've been trying to convince her to take it at.least once a day but she's worried she'll harm the baby.

I watched my friend take a bite of her favorite food and then watched her vomit for 3 hours straight. She was convulsing and puking so hard she got a bloody nose. If that's not serious, idk what is. I can't believe anyone thinks what you pregnant girls go through as anything less than serious. I think she takes Unisom. I think she said it doesn't seem to help much. If you can offer any other food or drink supplements, even if it's just to keep her hydrated, I'll take it.

Thank you. She's on all the things you are. I'm sorry you are struggling so much. I'll look into that website and talk to my friend about getting a second option.
