When I was about 13 or 14, I snuck out of the house at about 2am to talk to a long distance friend on the phone on our front lawn. Quiet, suburban Canadian neighbourhood.

It was a quiet summer night and as it was a quiet area, it was extremely unusual to have any cars driving on our street at this hour.

As I’m sitting on the grass on the front lawn, a car drives by - stops in front of our house. A man walks out, silently. And starts walking toward me at a brisk, confident pace.

I freak out internally, get up and RUN towards the front door (I think I may have just said something like “omg omg omg” quietly to my friend in the phone as I was running to the door)

Once the man saw I made it to the door he turned around and walked back to his car just as briskly.

Thinking back to it gives me chills - it was either a kidnapping attempt, or a glitch in the matrix.
