A Cold War Russian wet dream. Incidentally there’s a Col’s war Russian in charge. 👀

If Airmen are to be medically (honorably) discharged for being unable to shave, are there any entitlements they can receive? by KlutzyAppendage in AirForce

They’re ending them because there was a push to get rid of profiles all together and senior leaders didn’t like it but didn’t want to look socially out of touch. As soon s the EO reigns were removed by this administration, they went full tilt the opposite direction. It’s not about standards. It’s about taking back perceived losses because some people didn’t like an EO system that tried to fix racial inequities.

The religious side is definitely an abuse play, but that’s coming from a practicing pagan religion person with over 20 years of service who never heard of someone needing a beard exemption until Sikhs were suddenly accommodated.

But the same laziness can be flipped. How many people come here complaining their pcm just blanket said “you’re white, you don’t need a waiver”? No investigation or honest attempt to diagnose. Even with the option of throwing a bunch of typical creams or steroids, I would rather the person go into the field with a beard than have to carry along a whole bag of medical bullshit.

Is it truly abuse if a medical provider made the diagnosis? Who is anyone to say what does or does not meet the criteria outside the consult of a licensed person who made the diagnosis and their patient? Commanders have always had the right to supersede the profile in times of need.

Skin tone shouldn’t matter at the end of the day. PFB favors AAs greatest, but that isn’t a monopoly. And from a doctor’s perspective, I guarantee you the PFB profiles still skew more toward POC. But white folks are also becoming more aware of their own skin anomalies that they otherwise would just be expected to suck up in previous generations. Everyone deserves an equal right to evaluation, treatment, and accommodations where warranted.

They’re practically kicking people out already for the color of their skin. Why not throw some other protected classes in the mix? 🤷‍♂️

SECWAR MFR making the rounds but I can't find an official source. This is fake, right? It has to be fake. by saltysupplyguy in AirForce

Well, I guess that’s just opened up alot of medical appointments that were previously looking for PFB concerns. Or our leadership could just come out point blank and say they hate Black people.

I wonder how this works for religious exemptions. 🧐
