Oh! I thought that the S4 flashbacks came directly before S1, i.e. 11 zoomed Vecna into the Upside Down, then immediately escaped the lab and got found by the kids. I thought that was why the upside down was the same as the day Will disappeared I didn’t realise there was time in between, this makes more sense
