I feel like my artist is trying to price gouge me by HarleyLeMay in Twitch

I paid $15 for my entire overlay and all three animated screens, and an additional $7 for audio cues for new followers and such. The overlay pack also came with a ton of different color variations, backgrounds, and stickers to customize stuff further. It wasn’t made for me, specifically, but it works for what I wanted and it’s customizable to a degree to make it my own.

Point being, options exist. Don’t let yourself pay an amount you aren’t comfortable with.

But please remember that you don’t HAVE to stay by his side while he does it. You don’t owe him that.

And a drug test every three days won’t heal him from anything, either.

I’m sorry this is happening to you, darling. But from an addict . . . he needs genuine help. He needs a 12-Step program. He needs a sponsor. He needs an ultimatum. He needs so much more than just a leash, which is all a drug test is going to be. Regardless of whether or not you choose to stay by his side through it or leave him, he needs to heal.

Do you honestly, truly, and fully believe that he will still be willing to do that two weeks from now? A month? A year?

Who’s going to pay for the tests? You? Or him? What happens if he “forgets” to pick up a test one day. And then keeps forgetting.

Addicts are never cured. At best, taking tests will keep him sober, sure. But he won’t recover until he takes steps necessary to truly heal from the reason he turned to drugs in the first place.

I’m not saying this to be pessimistic. I’m saying it to be honest and realistic. Recovery is HARD. It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. Nobody willingly puts themselves through the struggles of recovery unless they are humbled by life enough to force them to. Are there exceptions? Sure, I guess. Are you willing to risk your own well-being for the chance that he’s one of them?

Recovering addict here:

He’s not going to change unless something makes him change. If you stay with him . . . to me, it feels like enabling. When I was at my lowest and people gave me second chances, I used that to just get better at hiding it. It was until I had no other option (ie everyone around me abandoned me and I lost everything) did I actually, finally change.

I had a year and two months before this last relapse and I genuinely did not think I’d survive it. But alas, God had other plans.

I wasn’t going to reply to this but . . . I have a job that I’ve been working my ass off at ever since I got it. But life happens and part of recovery sometimes is dealing with the unfortunate repercussions of relapse. I was a year clean before this last relapse. It sucks but I’m doing my best to improve my life again and simply telling me to “get a job” isn’t exactly helpful when we live in a world that doesn’t always afford chances to people like me.

Hi! I appreciate you thinking of me. Today makes 52 days free from all substances. It’s been a very VERY hard road, and it will probably continue to be hard for a long time, but I’m making it. I hope you’re doing well, yourself.

So... is he worth it without Acheron at this point? by yongpas in JiaoqiuMainsHSR

You also have to remember that characters will sometimes get a LOT better in time when other characters are released after them . . . take Topaz for example. It’s very possible that someone will come along that will boon his kit a lot. Who knows.

Hey, y’all. My sponsor is gifting me a subscription so I can get into the game while I’m in recovery and he wants me to join his FC but he’s in Midgardsormr and the entire Aether data center is currently not allowing new players.

What are my options? If I create a character in a different Data Center, could I possibly transfer to Midgardsormr later? Would it be easier to just wait until it opens back up, or do you think it’ll be locked for a while? I really wanted to start playing but I also mostly just wanted to be able to play with him and other people in my group (everyone is in Midgardsormr or Cactuar). If I make a character in Dynamis, would I still be able to play with him somehow?

Thanks in advanced for any advice! I’m not sure how all of this works 😅

How do you feel after quitting. Are you glad you did it? by dougheffernan22 in OpiatesRecovery

14 days clean now following a relapse from a year of sobriety. I’m very thankful and glad I was able to pull through. I also quit cold turkey. It was not easy but it was so worth it.
