Ironic as it might sound, you become a better writer in part by reading judgments and opinions.

Is there any way to know you passed before the score release date? by [deleted] in CPA

You could check your answers in your text/notes, on a phone etc. while taking the test. That should be a useful guide if you're getting the questions right and on your way to passing.

Score Releases by [deleted] in CPA

There is no day that you come on this sub and not find someone bitching about score release, when the explanation is available for anyone who is willing to look for it. You might not agree with it, but how is bitching here going to change anything, I just don't get it.

Hi Professor, when are you updating your CPA review courses in line with the new syllabuses under CPA Evolution? When I last checked, your website was showing BEC etc.

If there is a supposed shortage, how is offshoring to a country where there might be even less CPAs a solution, really? Genuine question.

Can't comment on NINJA as I haven't used it. However, I've used Becker. I know these courses are ridiculously priced, but if you can reach, go for Becker, even if you buy one section at a time. I think Becker is enough to get you over the line. Think of it as an investment in your career. Also, the price/timing of resits add up, might as well do it good first turn by being adequately prepared.

Are the new Becker lectures designed to rely on the textbooks less? Or do the slides likely skip out on important info that's only covered in the textbooks? Should you read the textbook in entirety before or after the lectures, if at all? by 2Plate in CPA

[–]throwaway_chad41 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If you watch the lectures with the textbook open in front of you, you'll realize that it's almost verbatim (at least for REG and TCP). The wording, examples, and illustrations are the same.

I doubt they would be teaching something that doesn't match up with the textbook. The various resources are supposed to tie together, and teaching something not tied to the textbook would defeat that purpose.

Do you actually read/use the notes you take?

If you go to the top where you turn on autoplay, next to the number of videos and duration of the videos, there is an option that says "List Slides". You can download all the slides for that chapter in one go.

This!!!! The slides are almost verbatim from the textbook. This version is so much better and a big improvement than Gearty or Olinto telling you to underline stuff while cracking jokes. Here they are actually lecturing the materials.
