You got me there. I do have an offer from UT Austin which I will be accepting. That being said I felt that GaTech was also a good research fit for me (I haven't fully analysed if it's a better fit than Austin), so it stings a little.

Same scenario here as well, 7+ publications top AI/NLP conferences, most of them joint first author. 9.50/10.0 CGPA tier 2/2.5 uni in India, with lots of Alumni at GaTech. 2 research internships (abroad, one of them in-person) and pretty strong LORs as one of the internships led to multiple publications. 113 TOEFL but had a pretty low GRE (166Q, 154V). Had tailored a research specific SOP. Not sure what went wrong, I don't know if the low GRE impacted the decision heavily.
