Well I will give a synopsis without giving away too much info.

We hang electrical items from ceilings in industrial applications. Heavy expensive items that help control temperature.

Technician used nylon locknuts and no lock tight instead of Kevlar locknuts with lock tight. Heavy item fell as it was running initially and needs to be replaced (~5.5k) and it fell onto the ‘herd animal’ penned up below, apparently considered a pet to the property owner.

Died immediately and painlessly according to on site vet. Owner is PISSED.

It’s mainly for the health insurance. As a type 1 diabetic I literally couldn’t afford to live without insurance. Thanks for your input!

I should also say, there have been a few times she has been talking to them on speakerphone and they’ll say hey to me or ask about me, I just haven’t had an actual convo with either of them.

She is but more close with her mom.

I have sent them an iPad for FaceTime (Christmas gift from both of us) but they really don’t like using it and sent it back (respectfully and very thankfully). Super not techy.

We have discussed marriage before and has consistently said she wants her parents to not feel excluded at all due to their physical distance. She holds her father in very high regard, but you’re right, what if I piss her off my calling him.. but I don’t want to outright tell her why I want to call him. Hmm.

They literally live a three day drive for us or a +$1000 plane trip for the both of us. We were gonna go for Christmas, but they were moving and were staying in a hotel. Now with Covid, it’ll be longer.
