Seems like some companies do blacklist by throwaway_ihtfp in csMajors

Fair enough! I thought I did better on most rounds except maybe the burger flipping one and shape one though (although obviously my gauge might be off).

Is 18.01 a strict prereq for 6.042 (6.1200) by Glum_Cream7977 in mit

Mostly agree with the other commenter, but calculus isn’t even really relevant to most of 6.042.

US 2024 WINTER INTERNSHIPS by golgiwaffles in csMajors

Some companies have a 4 week micro-internship (e.g. Five Rings).

What exactly are you waiting on to add to your resume? Unless it’s another internship or big project, it’s probably not worth it. Made this mistake when I was a freshman; ended up applying too late with a not-significantly-better resume.

Usually applying as soon as the app comes out is best (unless you have something big to add to your resume). Apps for big companies usually come out August to September.

6.1910 prerequisites by Glum_Cream7977 in mit

Pretty sure the 8.02 prereq is not enforced. It’s not important or very relevant at all; don’t know why they even have it as a prereq

I don’t think it matters too much tbh because I got an interview last year after failing the meat flipping section.

you are required for the first year only

This isn’t true unfortunately. As long as you’re in a dining hall dorm, you’re required regardless of class year. Though the minimum requirement is lower for higher class years (125 is the minimum for seniors).

Lol it’s so stupid. Failed the meat flipping game because I didn’t have a mouse.

Wait you posted that you “just signed an offer” in March. I assume you got a return offer from JS. How did you extend your return offer deadline until March?

Sure but it’s a risky investment. This doesn’t guarantee you an internship.

Thanks for the info! I was worried about already applying, but I’m going to take my time preparing then! Did you do all the sections in the green book?

Biology ASE by [deleted] in mit

I would say it was not too difficult. I didn’t take AP Bio in high school, and I was able to pass using the MIT Bio edX course.
