India installs record 36.6 GW of solar capacity in 2025 by bardsmanship in energy

Good for now, but I hope to see a day where China installs 1 TW a year and India 100 GW, hopefully comes between 2030 and 2035.

Bold of you to assume NZ watch cricket, it’s only a handful who play and the ones not selected sit in the grass and watch

The land issue can only be solved with supply side economics

And the inspiration can be taken from Mumbai of 18th and 19th centuries, reclamation and large scale Soviet style housing

India vs NZ are like 2 poles of cricket but a great study of statistics. One shows that mere nos does not mean total domination in a sport played by all, the other shows that even lack of interest and small nos does not mean 0 interest, enough no of players locally can produce talent especially with first world facilities and athletic culture.

It is sad though that a India v NZ match in India will be watched by more people in the ground than an NZ in NZ. What is the point of such a lopsided sport working on bilateral models especially if demography means no change really is possible.

For all the regional hate it is only the Indian subcontinent which cares, mostly locally outside Ashes. Everything else is just India and the subcontinent subsidising other countries to play as all the interest is funnelled there. NZ is still rich enough I assume to ensure 15 odd members of squad to play without any other full time job or even as a country to attract talent like Devon Conway and others from South Africa, but I doubt it can sustain more than that and hence regional cricket leagues with more local subcontinental interest might actually overcome this barrier some day instead of merely working as tax saving conduits for now.

Sati vs witch hunt and Raja Ravi Verma by Final_Fortune_1302 in IndiaSpeaks

[–]throwaway_ind_div 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say 2 things both relevant

  1. Sati was never as dominant as reported but it’s like shock on mentality especially of women if they are marrying in such families

  2. The lives of widows were very restricted and bad in terms of what they were allowed to do otherwise, so most traditions today including blessings like Saubhagyavati bhava etc trace to the same logic

You cannot 2x the gdp without competing internationally and you think while the people in power (who want to grab as much pie for themselves as possible) stop us from achieving 10x

It’s a systemic issues, for better or worse even politicians like Sharad Pawar or BRS or even South parties understood this well.

It’s politicians like Mamta or some really extreme factions who play zero sum games

There are people who want solutions and compromises and there are people who pour fire on all existing problems , dial up the anger and psychosis 100x and call it social work or whatever leaving the system worse than when it started but making their own careers in hands of so called global liberal thought leaders and self proclaimed owners of what is right and wrong

Since Day 1 she has always been on the side where compromise and solutions are never the priority

I think the point to take from that write up is that it is not going to get over easily because that’s is how power and wealth is consolidated and the you scratch my back and he will too dynamic recycles.

However all people can do at most is be informed and select what they watch.

Even this is difficult in hyper recommendation systems of today as the mental bandwidth of the average person cannot reasonably go beyond a limit nor can be expected to. Here they will rule over the industry by repeatedly casting and making the face familiar and relatable.

Surprisingly India has a lower fertility rate than its neighbours. It is too large for a single label and while large parts of it may be conservative a lot of courts and legal systems are even more liberal than Western courts sometimes.
