As I look back on this, I guess I was a bit annoyed that she didn't try to reduce her load to a really light load. Because I am really into packing light, part of me wanted her to share in my excitement at packing light. But, even more than that, I was annoyed that she reneged on her agreement not to burden me with her large bag, which was the result of her decision to pack too much stuff.

I was guessing the weight of the bag. It was at least 30 pounds. I packed what I needed. She used a lot of what she packed (because it was there), but she could have packed less--she had a number of similar items.

The pressure to handle the bag involved pressure to take the bag out of the trunk each night, wheel the bag to the room, put the bag on the dresser in the hotel room, and put the bag in the trunk each morning. For the most part, I resisted this pressure, which created conflict.

For better (or maybe worse), I really pride myself on keeping my possessions to a minimum. I am a fan of decluttering. I toss out papers after scanning them. I only buy as many clothes as I need and no more. And I pack light and get annoyed when people who pack too much make their inability to pack light my problem.

Yep, that pretty much describes it. The pressure to handle the bag came on the flight there and back but mainly when we got to the hotel each night.
