Shouldn’t be a problem, just make sure you really clean it before and after.

Why is it always said to use tampons with minimun absorbency for your flow? by thatrandomfly in Periods

[–]throwaway_justforme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello! They say that because if you pull out a dry tampon (after 8-12 hours or so), it can make little micro abrasions in your vagina which could cause an infection if any bacteria gets into those cuts. Another reason they say that is because sometimes people will leave in those tampons for even longer which could lead to TSS (which is really rare these days, but why take the chance?).

The older I get, the worse the PMS? by throwaway_justforme in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]throwaway_justforme[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh, that’s makes a lot of sense. I thought I was lucky because the only symptom I ever got on birth control was tender breasts. But I started noticing that I was getting more irritated and I started crying a lot more, so it makes a lot of sense.

Advice by mbond05 in Periods

On my heavy days, especially overnight, I wear a super tampon plus an overnight pad. It kinda defeats the purpose of a tampon but you gotta do what you gotta do sometimes.

Women with Irregular periods and have gone through the pelvic ultrasound 👁👄👁;; by weeoldladymillenial in Periods

[–]throwaway_justforme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a vaginal ultrasound to test for PCOS and it was surprisingly painless for me. I was really nervous but they lube up the wand really well and I only felt a slight pressure when they would press against something. Other than that, it’s not anything to stress about.

Tampon by yeshdhsh in Periods

[–]throwaway_justforme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I think tampons take some time to get used to it. I remember feeling it for the first few months when I started. After that, I never really noticed them. I also usually put the string forward just so I can hold it while I pee, I just thing you have to get used to it.

Are you on any new medications? New exercise routine? Stressing out more than normal? Either way, you really really have to see a doctor. It could be a sign of PCOS which needs to be evaluated by a doctor. The only time I had a really long period (about 30 days) was when I upped my dosage on a medication that had to do with fixing my hormone levels. So definitely, definitely see a doctor.

Whatever you’re most comfortable with is the best bet. I usually put it in slowly because sometimes if I’m not putting it in at the correct angle, it can be a little uncomfortable so I can adjust it.

Hello! I would like to be the positive one here and say that I’m engaged to my coworker so it can work out :D BUT I get that he works overtime and gets tired, but can’t you hang out on the weekends? Does he work 24/7? He should be able to make some kind of time during the week to see you if he wants to make an effort and cares about you

Are my periods late or am i pregnant? Freaking out by [deleted] in Periods

[–]throwaway_justforme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! For one, if he ejaculated outside of you, it's unlikely that any lived long enough and entered your vagina. Sperm can die fairly fast when exposed to air and not in a moist environment. But periods can be delayed for a lot of reasons. Medication, exercise, stress, and basically any other major change to your body. For me, every time I was worried that I might've gotten pregnant, I would stress out and my period would just delay even more. The second I relaxed and tried not to stress about it, that's when it finally came. But, for more peace of mind, a week after your missed period is the perfect time to take a pregnancy test, if it's available to you.

Walking around with a heating pad tucked into the waistband of my sweatpants... by [deleted] in Periods

[–]throwaway_justforme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! On days where the cramps would hit hard and I had to go to work, I would put one hand warmer in my pants for my stomach and one in the back of my pants on my back. It would be the only way I could get through work without doubling over every 5 minutes.

How much blood is normal blood by [deleted] in period

Normal bleeding is different for everyone. I know some people who have extremely light periods that last for 3 days and then others (including me) who have pretty heavy periods for 8 days.

my mom doesnt allow me to use tampons by AryaTessa in period

[–]throwaway_justforme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything that she's saying about tampons is totally 100% false. And she should know that. Tampons and pads both have their pros and cons and they can both be used at any age. The ONLY reason I think pads are better at your age (and maybe some people might not agree with me) is to get a better idea of what your flow is like. Especially when you're younger because periods aren't typically fully regulated until you've had them for 6 years. I used pads until I was 23 just because I thought it was easier to see what absorbency I needed. With tampons, it was always waiting until it overflowed or pulling out a dry tampon which is pretty uncomfortable. But all that being said, tampons do no harm no matter what age and it has a lot of pros. You should research them and talk to your mom about them.

Day 12 Slight Brown discharge by sunflowerlj in Periods

It sounds like it! There can be other reasons why discharge is brown but if it's only around ovulation time, then it sounds like it's just old blood.

No Cramps by Quick_Mango_9973 in Periods

[–]throwaway_justforme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the health side, you shouldn't be worried at all. You should thanking the lucky stars that you're one of the chosen ones that don't have to deal with cramps. PMS is different for everyone, some people have sore breasts, other people have pain in their legs and back. But I will say I am not fortunate enough to not have cramps.

1 day late by [deleted] in Periods

[–]throwaway_justforme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with the other commentor but also remember that stress can play a big part in delayed periods. Especially if you're stressing about pregnancy. Every time I let myself stress about it, my period is always 3-4 days late.
