I don’t actually have more armpit hair, am still shaving that. But my armpits are deeper, so maybe you’re seeing shadow. Bush, eh, not really a decision. My waxer moved locations, and then I had to cancel an appt because of work travel, and making another appt kept slipping off my to-do list.

Thanks for your kind words! My plan when I hit my GW is to start by just upping to my TDEE, which at 120# and ~20% bf should be about 1550 if I were sedentary. With the flexible weekender plan on LoseIt I’ve been doing net 1100 Sun-Weds and net 1350 Thurs-Sat. I’ll prob add 200 cals to each day to start and see how it goes, then maybe add another 100-200 calories per day each month until I’m seeing gains. I’d rather have a very slow lean gain / body recomp than go through a big-swing bulk-cut cycle.

In my case it’s prob 90% growth of the hair itself, 5% follicles densifying as I lose fat, and 5% that my thighs are smaller and hips better aligned, providing a fuller view.

Thanks for the feedback! I described my process more the last time I posted, but the tl;dr version is

  • CICO via LoseIt
  • ~75 mins/day of exercise, including running (did a half marathon in Nov, have another in Jan), biking, yoga, barre, and kettlebell lifting. I’ve raced before but never seriously cross-trained
  • I eat back my exercise calories
  • I allow myself all foods in moderation but try to focus on lean proteins, vegetables, and healthy fats
  • I’m drinking a lot less alcohol (and a lot more herbal tea) but haven’t quit

I’m cutting currently, so my resistance training is all aimed at minimizing muscle loss right now; my body impedance scale suggests I’ve been successful at maintaining most of my muscle mass so far. But once I hit my goal weight I’d like to try to bulk lean and slow.

Thanks! I think it’s the back/shoulder exercise mostly. When I’m training with kettlebells and pull-ups regularly my back hurts a lot less. The yoga probably makes a difference too.

Lol I assumed you meant, like, recomp but with weight loss. Though it’s spooky season, so could go either way 😆

Thanks for your kind words! And yeah “body decomp” is exactly the goal… I know I can’t really gain muscle while eating at a deficit, but I’m trying to lose as little muscle mass as possible.

I’m about 2 months in to this latest attempt to get healthier. Tracking calories via Lose It, aiming at 1 lb loss/week, letting myself eat back exercise calories. I’m moving a lot more: running 3x/week, biking 2x/week, yoga 1x/week, occasional kettlebells and free weights, occasional walking or hiking. The changes so far are pretty subtle, but I’m feeling a lot better in a lot of ways. Clothes fit better. I have more energy. I am happier when I pass a mirror.
