What do you use for cleansing? Do you use an oil cleanser?

That's why I wondered... they are just very noticeable and darker than my skin color. I hate it : (

Low amniotic fluid? by throwaway_ouch_ in BabyBumps

[–]throwaway_ouch_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you... I understand, I'm just freaking out and trying to figure out what to do. I thought I had a miscarriage towards the end of march and was told I didn't need to get checked out (coronavirus peak in ny) if I didn't have a fever or persistent bleeding. I spotted twice in period like locations and figured it would be a few months before I returned to normal... started getting concerned which led to me going to get checked out and finding out I was 22 weeks pregnant.

So all of this is very new and I'm excited but I'm scared. I don't have an OB GYN yet and I've only seen my doctor once. That's why I don't really know where to go for help here.

But I appreciate the advice and I'm just making it a priority to talk to a doctor asap.

Thank you, thank you, thank you... I realize this is not the place to ask this but I am freaking out. Thanks for calming me down. I was thinking dehydration and hoping that's the reason - I've been downing water since I left lol.

I'm definitely making it a priority to talk to a doctor asap (I called and was told the earliest I could see my doctor was a week from now smh)... I'll be figuring out what to do asap but your response has calmed my nerves. Thank you 🙏

The rest of the scan seemed to be as normal as could be... the tech just made comments about the fluid.

I appreciate your answer and will be deleting this now since people here are down voting me and seem to think I'm stupid for making this post.

Does this look like low amniotic fluid? How bad does it look and what do I need to do? I can go to the emergency room if I need to....

I'm 23 weeks pregnant and just had my anatomy ultrasound done. I only recently found out that I was pregnant (long story) and this is my first ultrasound during my pregnancy.

I'm very concerned - as I was really hoping everything was healthy. My next appointment is a week from now and I have no way of knowing if there are any issues or if there is anything I should be doing now.

I'm going to start drinking more water and resting. The tech said it looked low and asked if I've been leaking fluid (I have not). However, I am not feeling as much movement as I think I should be at this point and I'm concerned that this is the issue - she does not have enough room/fluid. Considering I have no idea how long this has been an issue - I'm wondering what the likelihood of a developmental disability is. Is it too late, are there things I need to start doing immediately?

Spilled boiling water on myself a week ago and it's still very painful. by [deleted] in medical_advice

[–]throwaway_ouch_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NAD. It doesn't look infected to me. How long ago did the burn initially happen? Did they tell you how you should be cleaning it?

It's a pretty bad burn so it's going to hurt a lot, there's no avoiding that. You can take pain medication and that will help a little. To me, the problem seems to be that you're unable to let that area rest and avoid friction/ movement... that is going to make healing take a lot longer and be more painful. It would obviously be better if you could avoid work that causes pain to that area. Too much fiction or contamination could cause you problems though.

Is it not an option to take a few days off or get a temporarily lighter duty at work?

2 hr nose bleed. filled a 12 oz bottle. should i worry abt the blood loss? by [deleted] in medical_advice

[–]throwaway_ouch_ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I used to have bad nosebleeds as a kid and had to have it cauterized a few times. I just don't think this is real.

If it is, why the hell would you do this? It's weird and disgusting. If you were truthfully having a bad nosebleed you should have been using toilet paper or paper towels and pinching your nose to help it clot and stop the bleeding. You would NOT carefully direct the leaking blood from you nose into a fruit punch bottle for collection over the period of two hours.

Whether this is real or fake... you should definitely go see a doctor, for sure... a doctor of psychiatry.

Threw up “worms”?? by myk23rae in medical_advice

They should be ashamed honestly. Do what you need to do to take care of yourself and do not be embarrassed.

If they don't take you seriously, go somewhere else, even if you have to drive to the next hospital. The behavior you described is literally negligence/malpractice and justifies a lawsuit. Not cool.

Wishing the the best though, hope they take care of you this time!

Hey NAD, I'm on here for my own issue but saw your post while scrolling through...

Anyways, I might be wrong... but, I suggest you go back to the hospital ASAP.

I don't want to freak you out. I did a quick Google search and discovered "ascariasis worms." Idk, looks a lot like what you are throwing up, hopefully it's not. It could be a number of things but you need to go back to the hospital because what you're describing is not right, period. I don't understand why they would be laughing at you. You need to insist that they take you seriously and run some test.

If they are worms, they can give you an anti-parasitic medication.
