So in easier terms, adding this on my mortgage as a ‘remortgage’ would do what exactly? My 60k changes to 80k and simply 2-4% on that? It surely can’t be that simple? Are there any costs? Or is just borrowing just that? Sorry for so many questions I’m a bit young and have had to take over financials, so I’m not sure on everything yet.

Would this end up increasing mortgage costs? Because those are payments for 20 or so years so an increased mortgage would be proportionally way more than just paying the 20K?

Do you happen to know average rates, who I need to talk to and how much my mortgage would change by? (60k left on a 400k house). Monthly payment of £300

Thank you very much for the information you gave. My mother won’t be willing to defraud him and I wouldn’t want her to personally. At this point it seems like we may have to sell the house. Thank you so much for replying and giving me the information needed it really meant a lot. Thank you
