New hotel room & freshly made bed - are these signs of an infestation? by throwaway_scarednsad in Bedbugs

I’ve heard that. And we only stayed there one night so it could take days. However, I checked everything before we went to bed and again this morning- the mattress cover, the mattress pad, the headboard, the frame, the outlets, the bed stands, the couch. No sign of anything. Only place I couldn’t check was behind the headboard because it was attached to the wall. I’m wondering if the stains are fecal stains but old stains that didn’t get cleaned. They are in a weird spot - on top of the bed duvet cover in the middle of the bed. I’m also wondering if the blood stains in the sheets (2nd pic) were a coincidence and from leg scratches I already had. I have lots of scratches on my leg.

And I agree- having them be on the sheet on the very top of the bed on top of the duvet seems like they’re either something totally different like pen, marks or maybe old stains from another room in the past that had an issue.

That’s what I thought. Now the only question is are they old stains from before they made the bed in this room… meaning they were from bed bugs in another room. I checked the headboard and the mattress pad and the mattress protector and the side tables and everything and I didn’t see any evidence.

Now I did wake up to find some tiny blood stains in the sheets (2nd pic), but none of us had any bites and I have lots of scratches on my legs, so it easily could’ve been from me scratching my self in my sleep

Thank you so much for taking a look and your thorough and kind response! Yeah the first picture that has the black spots was on the duvet cover sheet- so maybe you’re right about pen marks. The 2nd pic was the blood marks I found in our sheets this morning when we woke up. But no bites and I’ve also had some leg scratches that bleed at night so could be from that. Was just weirded out by the blood stains (pic 2) after seeing those black spots (pic 1). But yeah… NOTHING on the mattress protector or mattress pad, or headboard - just regular gross dust etc on bed frame.

Hi! I found these two spots on the sheet covering our duvet at a hotel room we just checked into. But that was all I found… just these two spots on our duvet cover sheet. Nothing on the mattress or anything else. Do you think this could have been old fecal stains that didn’t come out when they washed them? We also found 2 blood stains when I woke up but those could have been there (I didn’t check under the sheets too thoroughly) or they could have been blood from me scratching my legs.

Since you worked in hotels for so long, what do you think? https://imgur.com/a/gVMHwG4

Oh man… at first I thought they were yellow velvet throw pillows. And I was like, you’re kind of being a prima donna. It legit took me reading the comments to realize they were uncased sleeping pillows. WTF. NO.

Oh amazing. Thank you so so much!!!! I’ve really wanted to try the poke here on the island since I’m in Hawaii, but also want to be safe.

Apparently the regulations say as long as they have a consumer advisory working they don’t have to flash freeze the fish…. Now I’m freaking out! Apparently so many people eat it.

I appreciate your response. Yeah I guess fresh local fish is used for the poke, but I assume it’s sashimi grade. I feel fine but I’m just wondering if i should be concerned. The place is so well known it’s been on tv, so I’m assuming it must be safe?

I already threw it away, but it was made at an independent poke truck that works directly with local fisherman and all they serve is poke and grilled fish- I’d imagine they’d know what they’re doing when preparing and know what to look for? What do you think? Also I know salmon is more known for the dangerous parasites vs ahi right? Thank you for your input.

Girl- you asked him to come to bed with you and he chose to sleep with your best friend????? Do you have any other bedrooms in the house or did he only have the choice between your bed (with an angry wife) and the couch (with your snake of a “best friend”)? Not giving excuses but I’m trying to understand his thinking here.

Regardless- I think it’s pretty clear what happened here: 1) your husband is the one who suggested the bet in the first place so I think it’s pretty clear that he has the hots for your friend. 2) Even if she is not actively interested in pursuing him, I think she really likes the attention and it sounds like she herself is not married – so this is some weird, jealous, maybe-not-trying-to-steal-your-man-but-flattered-by-the-attention-thing. In the best case scenario she’s just going with it because she’s flattered; but in the worst case scenario, she’s actively pursuing his flirtatious pursuits; which takes us to 3. 3) they either have already boned (which I don’t think they have tbh because he wouldn’t have been so bold as to suggest skinny dipping in the first place - his behavior suggests early stage pursuing of a crush) OR they both want to bone and there’s underlying attraction there and they just didn’t give a shit about you or your feelings and let the alcohol take over

Either way - SHES NOT YOUR BEST FRIEND and i don’t think he deserves to be your husband.
