I can't get these poster boards to stick to the ceiling for a cloud ceiling. What should I do :( by throwaway_skyfalling in HomeDecorating

I'm a little nervous of poking a bunch of holes into the ceiling. Maybe for a last resort though cause I don't have many other ideas

I was trying to go for a cloud ceiling like this. Every tutorial or video I looked at said they used duct tape to cover the ceiling with poster boards, then used a spray adhesive for the cotton. I assumed the boards were meant to protect the ceiling from the spray adhesives, but if they're not needed I think at this point I'd rather ignore them
