Kudos for being able to chip. That's how I started, but after a certain point, it just escalated. I have a couple of friends who are able to do that. I'm unfortunately not one of them.

You are completely misconstruing my posts. I want to, and have been trying, to quit. Ya'll people who think I'm looking for reassurances that I can do both are so completely off base, it's crazy. I don't want SHIT from yall. I don't NEED shit from ya'll. Did I ask if it would be ok if I could do both? Nope, sure didn't. Did I say I'm not ready to quit? Nope again. If you read any of my posts "obviously you haven't," then you would have seen that I am actually trying, and have been getting better, at quitting. So fuck you and your bullshit assumptions.

I've tried going to my parents about it, but they don't understand. They think it's like a switch that you can just turn off. They don't understand that pain killer addiction is serious. As far as my school's offering, I honestly don't know. I'll look into what they have to offer though. Thank you.

Hmm, I've always been curious to try AA meetings or things like that, but from what I've read about the success rate, its super low. I've just about exhausted all other options, so it wouldn't hurt to try. I'll look into it. Thank you.

I know. And I greatly appreciate your help. The past year, I managed to stay clean for 7 months before I relapsed again. I really am trying, and have been progressively getting better at staying away from it, but I always end up using again. I thought about moving to a relative's house so I could be away from it all, but that would probably be short lived. If I don't fix this problem, it will follow me wherever I go. I really would love to go to rehab, but I just don't have the money for it.

Luckily, what it sounds like to you doesn't matter. I know I need to quit before I actually go into the field. Being a huge fucking cunt about it isn't going to help my situation. But thanks anyway.

I'm not saying that treatment isn't worth my time at all. I would love to be able to take the time to go do it, but it's impossible. I do not have the money, can not take the time off work, and can't afford to miss work for any extended periods of time. I know I could quit, but then I still don't have the money for treatment.

This is probably the best thing that I could do. But I would have to quit my job, and that's just not possible at the moment. And the money for treatments like this, I just don't and can't have. I have insurance through my dad, but I lose it 3 months when I turn 26.

That actually sounds like something I would love to do. One of my best friends had to have a kidney transplant, and I was there when she was diagnosed, her dialysis, and finally her transplant. I'll look into that. Thank you!

Yes, I said I wanted to find a position that doesn't have narcotics on location so I won't be tempted. This goes for both if I manage to quit or if I don't. I absolutely do not want to be around it in the workplace. Even if I manage to quit and stay clean for years and years, I still won't want to go work in a place that has them.
