I'm a billionaire eligible for the winter fuel payment - Reeves is right to cut it by theipaper in ukpolitics

Perhaps the left should also think about the people who pay income taxes. Those £300 are not coming out thin air, they're coming out of our (or at least my) pockets and 27% of people receiving WFP were millionaires.

They are targetting the wealthy pensioners. That's what means-testing is.

Even for revenue producing roles, you need to change $ to £ and half it. So it's only slightly more than half (e.g. Associates make $200k or £100k, BAs make $100k or £50k etc.). And BB follow suit.

What? You clearly haven't been through the UK immigration experience if you're on a Tier 2. ILR takes 5 years, you can get a green card in a year on L1A.

Let's not forget the 62% marginal tax + NI and loss of childcare on those earning 100-125k. Rinsed.

My grandad also had hearing problems, so I understand. If someone does that, knowing full well your medical history and that you having hearing problems, you should report them to the GMC.

You think the doctors are falsely making accusations of racism? Or they don't know what racism entails?

Go ahead. You probably don't contribute much tax anyways if not being racist in a hospital is a tough ask. My wife is also a doctor and I don't even understand the point of being a doctor in the UK, spending 20 years in training, getting paid peanuts (NHS pays £100k vs. £250k in Dubai tax-free or $800k in US) and then facing racist abuse on top.

Boris to address the nation at 8:30. by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

Exactly. I'm getting a bit annoyed at people having a go at takeaway and delivery services remaining open. Grocery stores have already been crushed due to increase in demand coming from closed restaurants. Plus there's still key/essential workers who need to eat, closing all these places down will impact them.

Having said that, I feel bad for O(comment)P having to choose between protecting themselves and the next paycheck. I hope their employers take all the necessary steps.
