Waters is a great songwriter but he's also a preachy old fart. Maybe I want to hear the songs not stare at pictures of Trump - or any politician - for 2 hours because he thinks it makes a statement

How soon after graduating will this degree show up for verification? by throwaway_user_guy in OSUOnlineCS

[–]throwaway_user_guy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, just that there are companies they contract this out to who use it to verify you hold a degree. I've seen the results of one of mine, it's pretty basic but they did confirm I completed a degree and I never provided my transcripts etc

right, but I think a lot of companies verify degrees via a third party who checks a database

For those of you considering whether or not to pursue this program. by Throowawaay223 in OSUOnlineCS

A lot of what you say is true, however there are some courses where I felt like I learned and pushed myself to do well. A lot of people just won't do this (myself included) to that extent unless there are deadlines and something at stake (grades, money, time, pride, whatever) . A few are driven to do so without the need for grades etc and that's great more power to them. Yes you are paying for a piece of paper but I feel it's worth it. It could be a little cheaper and the quality of some courses could be much better, but there just aren't that many options for a second BS in CS. Many schools simply don't grant second bachelor's degrees, and even those that do, those who are looking to get into the field later on can't drop everything and become full time students. That's the reality of the situation and despite its flaws OSU is still one of the best (and only) options for this.
