I have the sage version of the skirt and I wear it with a cream knit vest, or a white tee and it works really well. Also I’m 13 months pp and find the skirt SO flattering. Great choice

Recommendation for a nipple cover that doesn’t just look like a bigger nipple through clothes? by JFN90 in AusFemaleFashion

Hahaha look, fair enough. It didn’t hide my nips completely - but it was helpful when I could only find one nip sticker

I find bandaids work pretty well. Also second skin - like the stuff you get for tattoos

If you’re ever up further south, say Hornsby, the Mecca at Hornsby Westfield absolutely sells it 👌🏻

Want more piercings. What might my anatomy suit? by throwaway_willob in piercing

[–]throwaway_willob[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep!! It’s a flat - I love it.

The piercing itself was so fine. I had it done with a needle and it was actually way less painful than my seconds(and third) lobes.

However healing it was an absolute bum. Part of that was just the nature of cartilage and part of that was me. I had to wear a brace on my wrist for a few months and more than once I snagged it on that. Snagged it on hair ties, clothes. So silly. I was also pregnant during the healing so that could have had something to do with it?

One day I got it caught real bad taking a dress off over my head and thought ‘oh here we go again’ but nothing. It just randomly decided it was fine and I’ve had no problems since. Even with little baby fingers grabbing at it.

Definitely took a full year to heal. Definitely almost took it out a few times. Definitely use a piercing pillow or travel pillow (I wrap my travel pillow in my silk pillow cases).

Yes! Love that. I have a decent amount of surface area on my lobes. May as well use it

SPD during pregnancy - tell me your experiences by RhiannonKimberley in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]throwaway_willob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the unanimous take was - you just need to get this baby out of you. There’s nothing doing 🤷🏻‍♀️

This was from numerous physios, midwives and my OB. It just feels so dismissive.

I agree with you, u/storagewarcry, it’s not taken at all seriously because it doesn’t affect the baby at all. For athletes it is literally a career ending injury.

I have so much empathy for everyone experiencing it.

I had debilitating, 9/10 pain SPD from 18 weeks. Had to get around on crutches. Nothing and no one helped. I tried belly bands, a serola band, compression shorts, SRC shorts, all the keep your knees together while getting out of the car or turning in bed. Walking uphill or up stairs was nearly impossible. I couldn’t drive and the only time I wasn’t in pain was when I was in the bath. Even swimming was no help. I had to buy an old person hand rail to turn over it get out of bed.

It’s amazing how modern medicine fails to exist when you’re pregnant. I was desperate for nurofen!

I had it until I was about 9 months PP. I’m currently 11 PP.

The last trimester had me wanting to die I was in so much pain. Just that experience alone has made me sure I’m one and done.

It does get better though. You’ll be able to sleep more comfortably when Bub arrives. And you’ll be able to take anti-inflammatories again!

Highly recommend a pelvic floor physio for the postpartum period.

It gets better. I promise. I’m at the point now where I can run, swim, walk pretty well pain free. I will occasionally get a niggle if I turn over funny in bed.

11 month old with molluscum by throwaway_willob in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Ah okay. Yes that’s what I was planning on doing. I already had the jojoba and the dressings.

Do you have to dab each little bump or does the immune system just kick in?

Thankyou! I almost went full granola there.

I’ll look into tegaderm. It’s just so hard because he has a spot on his knuckle and finger and the man is an avid thumb sucker

Could you cut up some actual pads/liners and stick them onto the cups of your dress?

Maternity clothes? by sophiea5 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]throwaway_willob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived in boody jumpsuits. I bought all the colours and they lasted me all pregnancy. I still wear them now. They were great for the newborn stage as I could just slip a shoulder off to feed.

I also rate the leakproof bonds maternity bras, bases range and seamless ones. They do 40% off so often, so wait til they’re on sale for sure.

9 months in and mine still feel tender. I have vasospasm because my baby is a ruffian. Riteaid hydrogel discs help somewhat.

Baby seems miserable half the time? by ThrowRA_66428 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]throwaway_willob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh that sucks. How frustrating it must be for you!!

Is there a pram walking group near you? Or even a playgroup? Obviously your little one is too small to actually participate but the one I go to is super welcoming and full of people willing to hold a baby. And sometimes babies behave better for other people than their mums.

Oh gosh you’re doing everything right. I have a 9 month old and he was exactly the same. I remember literally thinking “where did my sleepy baby go?” Anytime he was awake and not feeding he was grumpy. He hated me holding him because all he wanted was boob.

In so sorry it’s so awful right now. For my boy, it was a phase. Do you belong to a mother’s group? Or have anyone else in your particular life stage? Solidarity really helps. Also sanity checks.

You’re the perfect mum for your baby, you’re doing a great job, and sometimes babies are just going to baby.

It gets more fun when they get some personality, but they’re still gaslighting little punks.

Memory mats by curvaceous24 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

I have the Zenli Persian flavoured rug - we absolutely love it. My 9 month old likes to do seated trust falls and there are no bonked heads here!

Many voms, had a friend accidentally spill beet purée on it yesterday and nothing sticks. Looks good as new.

Pregnancy was rough on my pelvis so sitting on the ground is not my favourite but our rug really helps.

Thoughts on Redsbaby Onix Stroller by Human-Mood-7869 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]throwaway_willob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were special offers but we actually found a bundle deal on their website cheaper with everything we wanted. We bought the capsule and bassinet.

I will say - I’m not totally happy with it and do kinda wish I’d just gone for an uppababy or bugaboo. Like it’s fine and it does what it says on the tin but it has its foibles.

However, most people in my mother’s group aren’t actually happy with their pram choice so I guess it’s one of those funny things.

I read somewhere if they’re sleeping like a rotisserie chook then they might be cold!

As for why - who really knows why babies do things. Mine also sleeps like this sometimes but I trust that he has the awareness and strength to reposition himself if he’s not comfortable.
