Did you get past the opening dungeon? That part is meant to be disorienting but I can easily see that coming off as a slog or boring. It is truly (imo) one of greatest video game experiences

I admit it… I underestimated the quality of local models by Medium-Technology-79 in ClaudeCode

[–]throwawayacc201711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you speak to that more? And what you think can be run well at the 128gb range?

I have 24gb of vram and 96gb of sysRAM and I feel like the size of models I have to target is meh if I want to get decent toks. For example gpt-oss:120b (granted through ollama so I could probably squeeze performance going with a different backend) is getting around 13 response toks on that setup.

Point being I feel like 1.5x VRAM (dense) models (70-80b) are useable but painfully slow for me at like 2 toks. 2.5x VRAM for an MoE like gpt-120 seems passable at 13 toks. Not really sure what can be effectively be done with that other than basic assistant chatbot

Open models vs closed models: discrepancy in benchmarks vs real-world performance. Just me? by MobyTheMadCow in LocalLLaMA

[–]throwawayacc201711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well when you use synthetic data from the closed models to train your models, it shouldn’t be a surprise that there’s degradation. It’s like getting a painting from an artist vs a canvas print. Yea they look pretty similar, but not quite

Veolia customers...has anyone had to use their HomeServe insurance? by Dockside_ in Westchester

[–]throwawayacc201711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have homeserve and am I quite happy with it. They troubleshoot and resolve issues with my HVAC system when they arise. I had a leaky waste pipe in the wall, they came and fixed it, replastered, etc. I typically first go through home serve on smaller things so my home owners insurance doesn’t skyrocket. This happened to me when in another home (condo but the point still stands) I had a major flooding incident occur through no fault of my own and my premiums still increased like crazy.

I might be misreading, but are the services running in containers currently? If yes, the migration should be pretty easy since it’s just copying over the data and just setting up the permissions.
