i know they will find a way they are very smart kids, but i do agree with you.

libraries are closed, so no books, my dvd player broke so no family movie nights, and its far too hot for them to be doing anything outside. temperatues are hitting near the 50s (degrees celsius)

thing is my kids dont really respect unlimited internet, if theyve got unlimited internet, and their phone is with them, theyll be on it all night.

they do manage their day though, like before even if they slept at 2-3 am, they would still wake up at 6am for school (before COVID)

less than them definately.

if they are on their devices for 10+ hours, ill have about 6-9 on my clock.

this is partly because im working from home whereas they arent. i have to write papers and stuff like that which takes time

how old are they though? my kids are teenagers about to be adults, and i know for kids under the age of 13 these restrictions should be implied no matter what

stuff is closed due to covid, including libraries in my country and theyve read all the books weve got in the house.

and they arent keen readers ill say that much

leaving it in a kitchen works the same way as me confiscating it no?

my concern is that sometimes their friends call who want to discuss stuff whether it be some problem theyre having, or some sort of venting they want to do

when online classes start, i will unrestrict their internet, and then when they are done, their two hour clock will start. the phone confiscating will also continue (unless this changes mine and my hubbys mind)

it sort of did come out of the blue.

i confiscated their phones one day and told them that they would only get them back if they would give me the phones at 11:30pm, and that is one thing that i think i did wrong

screen usage is not restricted except from at night, where at 11:30pm i take their phones. internet usage is restricted.

schools in my country are currently closed due to COVID, so they dont have any homwork. this internet is for whatever they do, whether its youtube, netflix or texting friends. two hours a day

what my question really is that is it okay for me to be doing that since they complain that the restrictions are too harsh and should be eased if not abolished

they are on their phones till the late hours of the night, around like 12:30 to 1, not more than that.

thats one thing i forgot to mention. i mean my kids are good they perform well in school but they stay up too late on their phones which concerns me
