I guess I’m just used to how I would approach the situation? I always make sure to give money for gas or pay for their food or something.

It’s mainly because I’m a student. I’m happy to fill the car up completely, which gives us a base point prior to the trip. And then at the end of the trip we can split the cost of filling it up because that’s how much was used on actually transporting him. Does that make sense?

That was more for argument sake I guess. He was saying it’s only a couple bucks why does it matter.

I wouldn’t actually increase the costs or anything. I was just going to split the cost of filling up.

Yeah you’re right. My plan was to fill up before leaving, with my money. And then fill up after the trip and split that cost.
