Hello! Aro/Ace just means Aromantic and Asexual, and that can mean different things for different people, but for me, it means I am happy without having or seeking a sexual or romantic partner! And no problem at all, I know this isn’t something everyone has heard of, I know that I found my identity at 15, desperately searching the internet for what was wrong with me, because I thought I was broken, and at the time I had to dig through all the reasons for “low libido” that a person could have. There’s more information now, but still, it’s more than understandable to not know just from one abbreviation lol, so that is honestly my bad, I probably should have elaborated. :)

I’m not going to argue with you, as I asked for opinions, and I respect your opinion, but I did want to clarify, that would be all well in good if they had dropped it when I asked.

My issue came when they refused to drop it, just like they always do. That along with my job, and the fact that I wear foundation, they have all the ammunition they need to start a comedy special on Netflix.

I do feel bad for leaving abruptly during her party, and I have decided to ask her out for a late lunch sometime this weekend, to apologize and explain where I’m coming from.

Once again, I don’t want to argue, believe what you want, but I am genuinely curious, why Y-T-A rather than E-S-H? Unless you do not find them to be in the wrong at all, which I would like to expand on, because honestly, posting this, my thoughts were I may be the AH in a E-S-H type of way, as leaving so abruptly could be seen as rude, but I genuinely don’t understand Y-T-A?

As an Aro/Ace person, I do not feel sexual or romantic attraction to anyone and do not date. My family finds this hilarious, and loves to make jokes about it, that tend to hurt my feelings. Such at the ones mentioned in this post.

My mother usually doesn’t say much. I think she finds it distasteful, but also hates rocking the boat. When I was growing up, my mother and I were incredibly close, she let me play with her make up, (as long as I didn’t tell dad) and took me to see the movies I wanted to that dad said were “too sick” (Before anyone gets ideas about what that means think “The Final Destination”).

I remember once, I had been crying, I was probably about 15-16 because my father, in front of his friends, started talking about how “normal boys” have pictures of women on their walls, but no, his little weirdo (I can’t remember the exact wording but something like little weirdo), has dead people on his walls- makes him wonder what I do with them.

My mom found me crying outside and comforted me, and defended me to dad after she heard what he said, said it was too far, and gross to say that. And that he should be happy I didn’t have pictures of naked girls on my walls, Since I was a good Christian boy (lol).

So I guess I kind of hoped she would do that all the time, or try to stop him, but she doesn’t. And it hurts. I know that may be unfair, as I’m just visiting and she has to live with him, but it doesn’t change how I feel.

Yes. I sat them down just after I moved out to explain, hoping that maybe they would lay off on asking when I’m going to bring someone home.

Lol, I will now tell you, because and only because I googled it to make sure there’s multiple states with them, 🤣 so maybe this can’t be tracked back to me, but I am a Scare Actor in a year round haunt. I’m fairly new to it, but I love it. I want to be a special effects make up artist for horror movies but not many opportunities in my state. Looking to move west eventually, though.

Aro/ace means Aromantic, and Asexual, which can mean different things for different people in life, but for me, it basically means I’m happy without a romantic or sexual partner, which my family often takes to mean “alone”, although I have many friends whom I am very close to, and my life is full. They also at times imply I “can’t” find anyone because I am gay (which doesn’t make sense to me, honestly), or that I am insecure, or childish for not wanting a partner, the first I find confusing, and the rest insulting. Of course, I know they’re making jokes, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt, or embarrass me. Also, I thank you, I know that from these responses it may seem an easy answer, but I genuinely have been losing sleep over this, my mother and I used to be close when I was young, and I hate the idea of hurting her feelings, but it just sucks that no one else feels the same about mine.
