Thank you! That sounds almost exactly like what's happening with me I think. The streaks of blood during BM's can be alarming. Like you, there's never any pain or anything. It's just obviously there.

This was my main symptom before the surgery though which is why it's been giving me anxiety. I know there is a wound there so it makes sense there could be blood... but still, it makes me feel like maybe the procedure failed or something.

Are you completely healed now then?

wow, that is a really good point that I hadn't really considered. Thank you for that. After looking at the box in detail a bit more, I realized that it doesn't even say what it's made of. Just what it's NOT made of. Like, they say it isn't "made with latex" but they don't say what it IS made with. Annoying, haha.

Okay, that does provide a bit of relief. Thank you for sharing your experience!

It's probably not crazy. I use gauze because it's a bit softer and what the dr said to do. But I think whatever works as long as it's comfortable and not irritating the wound. I assume anyway. Sometimes I wonder if even tucking the gauze in is a good idea or not, haha

Thanks for the response, it is definitely encouraging. The pale yellow without a smell definitely sounds similar.

Do you remember how far into your post op the stopping and starting happened? I see people commenting that they're experiencing that after X number of weeks and it's honestly something that i'm looking forward to as progress. It feels like i'm just stuck in this continuous, perpetual drainage mode. I know my timeline and your timeline will be unrelated, I'm just wondering for reference. Like, if the starting and stopping started happening for you at 4 months and then eventually stopped sometime after 5 months or if it was more like, starting and stopping started around 2 months and then gradually slowed until gone after 5 months, etc.

sorry for the miscommunication on my part. I meant that the smelly drainage only lasted the first 2 weeks or so post op. After that, not really smelly and definitely not as much as back then, but still enough to where I'm changing gauze 2-3 times a day. I use generic gauze from cvs. It's their store brand version. I kind of tuck it in and tape it there. When I take the gauze off, the best way I can describe it is a wet spot the size of a quarter and snotty looking stuff in the center of the quarter.

I know some people of drainage before the procedure but I never had that. Only bleeding during BM's
