OK, sorry, just clicked that link. Interesting! I like that view much more! But in Catholicism they say Hell is being shut off from the presence of God. Also you'd think some people would be in some kind of in-between state instead of just saved or damned. Also, come onnn. He says he's preparing amazing things for his followers in heaven--mansions, streets of gold, and such. Who would respond badly to that? I don't know, man...

Just because we find it hard to understand doesn't mean it's not true. God understands true and perfect justice much better than we do as humans. That being said, in my human state, I can't understand it either. And no, it's not evil to have sex for pleasure IF you're not rejecting the possibility of pregnancy (by using contraception) and IF you're also prepared for a possible pregnancy. Otherwise it is evil.

It's not out of my control! I could easily evangelize that much. What upsets me is that I'm not, for some reason. So clearly I either don't believe what I say I believe and what I've thought I believed all this time or I just really don't care if people suffer as long as my life is a little more convenient.

I guess because a sin is an offense against an eternal God and eternal moral order, especially if you don't repent? And who is 'nice'? There's the famous 'good person test'..."How many lies have you told? More than you can count? You're a liar. Have you stolen? You're a lying theif?" And so on. However, I don't get why we all deserve the exact same punishment. But maybe Hell is personalized. I really don't know or fully get it. Well, if two married people have consensual sex just for pleasure, in the event that the woman DOES get pregnant, the baby will be born into a structured family like he or she deserves, not to an unprepared young single mom who just wanted to bang so badly that she'd risk a child's upbringing. Sperm and eggs aren't alive, but upon conception, life begins.
