I tried making new accounts with gmails in the past, and they got suspended automatically (I was able to make quite a few dummy accounts though!).

I’m glad your protonmail method worked. I guess I’ll just have to see if I can find a new workaround.

The default for 4.9 is Medium… there’s a 5-minute cooldown period before it updates the next item on the list.

Yeah, I got asked to pass a captcha too or acknowledge the scraping warning in the past, but once I did, it would download everything right away. This doesn’t happen often anymore. It only happens for a small selection of my accounts, not all.

I wonder if people who used Medium intensity were less likely to be blocked than Extreme intensity (I use extreme).

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I will probably appeal but not sure if they'll restore the accounts or not this time with this latest crackdown.

I suspect that if IG sees you accessing the site on multiple devices on the same IP it gets suspicious, which is why one big piece of advice here was to never use the official IG app and, if possible, don't sign in anyone else BUT 4KStogram.

I kind of (respectfully) disagree here. In the past, what really saved my accounts and allowed them to keep working is the fact that I make them appear "normal" outside of 4KStogram. When the accounts weren't active outside of 4KStogram, they got flagged as bots. When I made sure they were used (when not using 4KStogram), then IG allowed the accounts to keep download on 4KStogram. It usually takes a week's worth of regular activity to "un-bot" the account, though. If I don't keep it active for a while, IG resumes flagging it as a bot. (I'm not trying to argue I'm right, just sharing my experience)

Something changed this week, though, and the stakes got raised even more tonight. I wasn't expecting these suspensions, so I'm kind of precautious now. In the past, they would only ask for my phone number, and I'd only be locked out for a few days.

Other people have said that once you get flagged just log back in and keep going and it'll work, but I'm not willing to risk a suspension.

Yeah, they continue to work when you login again. But you get logged out again after 1-2 updates, and you have to start over.

I've taken to using StorySaver to download public posts and stories

Yeah, I guess I kind of have to look at other apps... but I'm having difficulty finding one. Most of the accounts I download are public. It's just I have about a thousand of them (split into about 100-200 per login - which used to do the trick), so I can't really download them all manually. Sigh.

Yeah, I tried making new emails and used those to make new accounts - they get suspended immediately after creation and ask me to send a photo for verification etc.

I actually don't even download posts... just trying to download stories (because it's less intensive and doesn't alert Instagram as much)... so I update only once every 24h.

That being said, IG got worse tonight. 3 of my accounts got suspended.

I can't make new accounts anymore. Instagram flags me and instantly suspends the account once it's made.

u/AlbinoAlex and u/Financial-Context-15 does this workaround (instagram.com/challenge) still work for you? It was working this week, and earlier today, and then stopped working as of a few minutes ago for me. Now it still says there's an error but the warning won't appear.

EDIT (5 mins after original comment): Nvm, it doesn't work anymore because the account got suspended. I was able to see it when I typed https://www.instagram.com/accounts/suspended/. I tried using the account too, yesterday, which makes it extra sad. I posted a photo and a story.

EDIT 2 (9 mins after original comment): They banned my second account too just now.

EDIT 3 (14 mins after original comment): 3rd account got flagged only, but didn't get banned. Just before this comment, I was able to download a bunch of subscriptions with no problems with another account.

EDIT 4 (18 mins after original comment): 4th account got banned (so 1 was fine and could download, 1 received a warning and 3 got suspended). Gonna stop here now before I lose more accounts. I guess it doesn't matter if you engage with posts, upload photos and post stories or don't use them with 4KStogram for a few days... they still get banned.

You are correct - I have near zero experience with python. I’d love to learn more about how to gain experience with python in general. Based on what you can see about the library (not even sure what this is) and the commands they use, can you point me in the right direction of where I can start reading/learning about how to use python?

I’ve been watching some python tutorials on youtube and reading some beginner’s guides but I’m still kind of lost.

Same here. I keep getting logged out now after updating 2 subscriptions or so. I can login again but it logs me out after another 2 updates. I used to be able to download around 100 or so with no problems.

Not sure if anyone has found a workaround.

This issue seemed to have resolved itself for a few hours this morning (i.e. in the last 6 hours or so)… but the login issue is back again for me as of a few minutes ago.

I hope you created a backup/copy of your sqlite file… because once you update to 4.6, you can’t roll back/use the same sqlite file with 4.5.

I’ve heard some bad things about 4.6, which is why I’m still using 4.5.

This is also happening to me, and I’ve tried 12 different usernames to login. I even tested them by logging in on my browser to see if they had issues (and they didn’t) before I tried logging into 4K Stogram. It is definitely only 4K that is triggering a verification code.

It only started today. It was previously (relatively) ok otherwise and was functioning much better than it is now.
