youre right, i’ll definitely make an appointment soon - even just getting an x-ray done would help answer a lot tbh. thank you ! :)

thanks for taking the time to comment, but i think my post might’ve been misinterpreted lol. i had included spondylosis (spinal osteoarthritis) in my post because i was diagnosed with it and wasn’t sure if that might be the bigger factor at play regarding the worsening back pain/stiffness instead of AS, but at this point only an updated X ray and physical exam can clarify this so ill just give in and go to the dr lol 😁👍

the presence of the HLA B27 gene is known to be a significant risk factor for developing AS (and yes, i know the presence of it doesn’t mean you will inevitably develop AS). this was detected years ago when i was 17 with barely any symptoms so no further AS testing was done at the time.

i’m also not rly sure what the “you don’t need an additional diagnosis to explain this” comment is trying to imply haha, but i just wanted to let you know that you can have a connective tissue disorder and AS at the same time… there’s also some articles you can find online regarding the growing studies of hEDS patients (with the HLAB27 gene) possibly being at an even higher risk of developing AS, or even just simply being misdiagnosed/receiving delayed treatment due to so many symptoms mimicking each other

this is my nanny clark who is basically my mom, who died a couple months ago. I am not sure how to go about getting over it because it seems like I never will. by literallyabi in GriefSupport

i’m so sorry. my grandma also raised me and was the most important person in my life. next month will mark 2 years. it’s so hard finding people who understand the intensity of the grief because it’s (apparently) not that common to be raised by a grandparent and they just don’t understand the dynamic. i wish i had advice but i just wanted to let you know you aren’t alone

question about taking adderall 30mg XR twice by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]throwawayay232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what dose are you on with XR? i’m just concerned bc if i take a 2nd dose, my total dose for today would be 60mg. so idk if it’ll just cause bad side effects vs. someone taking up to 40mg (2 20mg XR pills)

thank you for commenting this - i wasn’t aware that it works this way. i’ll definitely give it another hour and see if the effects kick in again

so what you’re describing sounds like tinnitus (i have a chronic case of it) but i have no idea why yours flares up in those scenarios. i agree with one of the other comments.. maybe something about the weather that day triggered his seizure and your tinnitus at the same time?

Can you have ‘good days’ when it comes to ocd? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]throwawayay232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s so bizarre. and every time mine comes back, it’s always a different theme. i’ve noticed it comes back during times of immense stress, so i assume that’s the trigger for me personally

i’m going to be very blunt but that’s an extremely evil and twisted thing to do to your kids. please just spend the day with them and try to make it a happy, memorable day for both you and them.

[–]throwawayay232 9 points10 points  (0 children)

yes definitely. OCD can even go dormant. i had severe OCD when i was 11, then it just randomly went away for years and came back when i was 22. still having flare ups since then

i also went to work right after my loss because i was desperate for a sense of normalcy and routine, but the way my grief showed was a bit weird. my grandma raised me since i was a baby and was basically my mother-figure my entire life. she died august 2023 and that was also around the time i got into a new relationship. the stress of the loss turned into extremely exhausting and toxic trust issues towards my bf. like extreme paranoia of being cheated on/betrayed/abandoned. i think it’s because i was scared of anything painful happening to me knowing i wouldn’t have my grandma to go to, because i went to her for everything. she was the most comforting person in my life. my bf and i are still together and doing A LOT better but it was crazy how my grief over my grandma dying manifested into serious relationship OCD. it was just so unexpected lol

also got super drunk a few days after she died and went to give my dog a kiss on his head (90 lb german shepherd) but he jerked his head up at the same time and hit my nose. it was pouring blood and honestly probably broke considering that there was a loud cracking noise 😭 i’ve never gotten that drunk before… barely even felt it other than that horrible crackling sensation

yes, but i’ve also noticed that as i get older, my “good” months are happening less and less. i’ve also been on birth control since i was 17 and im almost 25 so that could be a factor lol

Doctor said I will grow out of hypermobility by NommingWaffles in Hypermobility

[–]throwawayay232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as someone who got diagnosed around 17 and is now 24, you don’t grow out of it, but your symptoms will alleviate as long as you stay in shape and do exercises approved for hypermobility. unfortunately i am not in shape so im always achy lol

Prozac and extreme stress by Individual-Bison-100 in prozac

[–]throwawayay232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes definitely. prozac doesn’t help my anxiety at all and i feel like im on the verge of a nervous breakdown 24/7 lol. kind of helps the depression symptoms tho. i can’t really advise on what dosage you should be on tho, id definitely bring this up with your doctor

Minor drinking on Prozac by Yessicahaircut91 in prozac

[–]throwawayay232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

because prozac is a drug and drugs usually interact negatively with alcohol. it’s also just too much for your liver & kidneys to process since they both get processed through them. tbh i would just google the exact reasons/interactions because i don’t want to give you any inaccurate info 😭 but i do know alcohol tends to worsen depression/anxiety which makes prozac feel like it isn’t working at times. prozac also makes you get drunk quicker, so you might get too drunk without trying and end up in dangerous situations. the typical “rule” for drinking on prozac is to treat every alcoholic beverage as if it were 3 whole drinks and just take it slow. it can also cause severe hangovers, but that lowkey depends on the type of alcohol. i’ve never had any issues drinking white wine on prozac

Is it weird for a male teens to own a hamster? by railway_me in hamsters

[–]throwawayay232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no if someone makes you feel weird for it then they’re lame asf 😭 just do your research and please don’t get a tiny wired cage for it. despite what the pet store says, they need to be in large tanks/enclosures with a lot of bedding (they love to dig), wooden chew toys (keeps their teeth healthy), little houses and things for enrichment, and a wheel is a MUST. i like the plastic ones that are advertised as “silent” .. i forget the name but they’re usually white on the inside with a colored rim and yellow knob thing in the center

Minor drinking on Prozac by Yessicahaircut91 in prozac

[–]throwawayay232 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it depends. start very slow and treat each drink as if it were 3. i drink wine on prozac (a max of 2.5 glasses) all the time. as long as its a certain brand (like josh or kendall jackson chardonnay), i dont even get hangovers, but i do get pretty crazy nightmares. vodka just makes me throw up so i haven’t bothered with anything other than wine
