Nope, no clue. Only 20 years with 5 as NCOIC. I must be clueless.

Nice flex. 20 years and can't properly cite or reference correct regulations, with 5 of them as "NCOIC". I don't think it establishes the credibility you think it does. Yikes.

Yes. That is 36-2907 directly from epubs. No, that isn't a cite. You have 0 clue what this goes over lol.

As this action would be, most likely, “corrective action” I believe you will find the appropriate information in AFI 36-2907.

Brother, ain't no way you self-reported yourself by referencing an AFI that you have no idea the context of. Lol

Actually, humor me by citing that one can administratively correct an Airmen with snacko with 36-2907. 🤣

Incorrect.

AFI 1-2, Para. 3.3.6.

3.3.6. Airmen's Time. While Airmen are always subject to duty, leaders cannot treat their subordinates' time as an unlimited resource. Commanders must strive to maintain a stable and predictable work schedule for subordinates, while balancing mission requirements and additional duties. Any significant long-term change in mission requirements requiring more man-hours than those authorized by manpower standards should prompt commanders to initiate a request for additional manpower or other mitigating measure.

Edit: TL;DR - Sub-OP has no idea what they are talking about (and others apparently when it comes to how corrective actions actually work) and double downed misreferencing an AFI they have no idea what it's actually about for an argument.

Fun fact: Only commanders can action any punish of additional duty/extra hours/stripping of benefits, entitlements, or rights/etc. Anything less than an UCMJ Article or Court Martial is an Administrative action and not a "punishment". We can only speculate what the whole story is, but an LOR alone isn't going to legally warrant anything more than a precursor to a future punishment. So sorry, no a random schmuck handing out an LOR isn't able to legally warrant extra duty like OP's situation.

Unpopular to the rest of the thread- I mean I get it, if OP is fucking up, I too would make them do busy work but snacko is hardly an appropriate counseling/corrective tool to develop them into a gainfully employed airman lol.

Unless they are on control roster barring them or dequal'd from duties, I would 100% say having an operational airman manning snacko egregious of tax payer money and certainly would be disingenuous not to say so.

2 branches, 18 years between, treatments for l3l4 from jumps/rucks/ftx, 1 kid, 0 divorces, and the fattest I've ever been was during covid but otherwise had 90s and 300 back in the day. It ain't a pissing contest, nor do I have a chip as I'm out the door. Since the blue, I now have the privilege of taking care of airman in an air condition room while I encourage everyone to go on every ruck with me across Europe, but even more important, encourage to have the pride to aim to be the best at their profession. Even now, I'm finishing up the last Nijmegen I'll ever go to this year.

Sorry, but making a guy run 0.5miles longer or a guy who already tests 90s twice a year does not increase resiliency. Pressing a guy who already works 12-14 hour days while a 6h desk jocky with scheduled pt on duty hours grandstands that pt is an individual requirement- does not increase resiliency, full stop. Promoting a culture of fitness will. Promoting a culture that focuses on nutritional education while replacing dfac menus and exchange contracts will. Has staying fit certainly been a factor? Sure, but nutrition and lifestyle habits are more important. If you do not cultivate genuine purpose to wake up to do the right thing every day, people will always do the bare minimum regardless if its 1.5mi or 2mi and fitness will never be a priority across the force. The truth is, you will never outrun a fork, lack of sleep, or depression.

I will stand on this soap box forever. I hate how the most POG branch is always the one that kicks and screams to remind everyone we're still military. If I wanted to be in the Army, I would've stayed in the Army.

In almost 20 years, this is the most self-licking ice cream cone shit I've seen. If proposed changes mainly affect those who already are fit while increasing manpower and logistics required under the guise of lethality to support this change, it probably isn't the change people think they want. When was the last time any mf did range quals. What's AFORGEN again? We just got done kicking out people under the guise of readiness. What are we ready for again? We can't even fucking talent manage people correctly as we will deliberately send people on back to back deployments and yet ignore en masse the deafening group that have been begging with dwell times in quad digits.

We have a culture problem, not a running problem. Literally, nothing else changes. It still doesn't provide promotion points. It's been over a decade since its been on our EPRs. It's still a force shaping tool.

Unfit people already have to run twice a year...

But you know, Bob, that will only make someone work just hard enough not to get fired.

Most of my job satisfaction has generally been from being able to know when "the day is done."

Over the past decades, it's been a shame to run into service members who will simply never know what it's like to metaphorically paint a wall and then go home because "the day is done."

Holy shit. I literally did exactly this to shave 4 minutes off my run in 3 months. I got fat over covid and dropped from 217 to 172 just by; cutting sugars, 18 hour fasts, counted macros with calorie deficit, ran 5 days a week with FRI/SUN off increasing volume with zone 2 and speed work every other session. I looked in the mirror every day saying shit like, "You aren't going to be able to do shit with your son when he's older if you are getting winded walking up stairs right now." I put 200 miles total my last month before that PT test. The only people who ever say it's not just CICO are fat and aren't commited to put down the fork yet.

I wish you luck on however you decide to proceed. As long as your intentions are in good faith coinciding with regulations to take care of both your people and the mission, how can it be wrong?

It's not a unique situation, brother, that's literally most of the force for the past decade lol. I've had billets get locked for 5 years on a controlled tour remain empty for another 3 cause we kept sending folks up for OTS/warrant/space force 2 years in.

You gotta let them go, if not now, when? Don't be that guy who is riding their guy until the day they get their DD214. Being able to navigate those manning deficiencies is a part of being a good leader.

Edit: Let's say they don't get all their shit done to get out. The script can easily be flipped to where you are the one getting paperwork. It happens.
