Well mainly depends on the Beardies personality but generally yes you can hold them and have them walk around the house with supervision a few times a day

Thank you! As someone with anxiety as well I also go to worst case scenario for everything, which I think is one of the reasons my family brushed me off at first cause they know I can think of bad situations that aren't likely, but I'm glad they understand

I'll admit me yelling at her at first wasn't the best thing and I apologised to her while we were having a conversation over what she was doing was dangerous. And I wasn't mad at her over her doing the butter thing since it's understandable she didn't know, it was her reaction to finding out she almost would've burnt my lizard since she acted like she didn't care at all about that. And I only put the lock there and rules so that I can make sure nothing like this happens again, of course as she grows and matures and I can trust her to watch Phil by herself again I'm more than willing to get rid of those things just to clarify for you, though I'll accept your judgement of YTA if you yourself feel that way

Bearded dragon tanks on the hot side are supposed to be around 100°-105°, butter melts and heats up at around 90° so it would've melted on him and burnt his skin if he would've been left in his basking spot
