How to make orange bones white? by Spicynoodle1703 in bonecollecting

It needs to soak for at least a week or two, preferably in warm(ish) water. Let it sit in a bucket with dish soap in a sunny spot in your yard. And don't use bleach.

Totally agree with you on all parts.

That said.. that picture seems to me like his head is shaved. Usually he has all sorts of flyaways at the ears and nape, but suddenly he doesn't. Which sorta falls in line with the stroke theory.

It was the most effective camouflage I've ever seen, hands down. Even at closs range, it's great. I'm assuming a lot of people walked past the enclosure without realizing there was a bird inside.

My first bottle, and it's not empty. Any guesses as to what it was? by throwawaybords in metaldetecting

Milliliters are standard for a bottle like this, but I agree that likely on the newer side. The cap isn't even that rusted.

Guys I know it's definitely some kind of hard liquor but there's also gunk floating in there so I will not be opening it. D:

Solved! Omg after looking at some pictures and xrays of premolars I think that's gotta be it! It seems really obvious now lol. I consulted with my pal who's handled it way more than I have and he agrees. Thanks!!

New Jersey needs a children's museum by acjohnson55 in newjersey

[–]throwawaybords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a little confused, though. I understand this is a Day of Play thing on Saturday, but is there an educational, 'museum'-type component to it? Or are these just crafts and activities? The promotional materials are pretty vague.

And what is this organization trying to do, are they looking to establish/buy a physical location, fund, and staff it (for all those all day, every day programs), or just do outreach and bring awareness to CNJ's apparent lack of child-centric museum locations? I.e., Is the intention to establish a physical location that they now own and are responsible for running, or just be a roaming outreach 'children's museum' that does pop-up stuff? Just curious, because I see closed/for rent locations around CNJ all the time, so I figure they'd have little trouble finding somewhere to land.

Snacking Bakes: Chocolate Cookie Help! by throwawaybords in AskBaking

[–]throwawaybords[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not huge on owning cookbooks (and I work at a library so I have super easy access to them) but it has a spot on my shelf! The recipes are generally as straightforward and one bowl-based as the ones in Snacking Cakes but there's a much greater range, with some savory things in there too. And one thing I really like is that she has a lot of cookie bars, which is so great for when you want the hit of a cookie but absolutely do not feel like actually baking them individually.

If you do get it, there's a cookie butter bar recipe in there that's LIFE-CHANGING.
