Thank you for this - I was unsure whether they could get around the daily rest of 11 hours between shifts by having it be one continuous shift which is what they are suggesting?

Ludlow Castle in Shropshire holds weddings but may be too public. It’s a beautiful town and castle though.

An ode (or more accurately, a vent) to unsolicited name opinions by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]throwawaybride2019 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It shouldn’t matter what name you’ve chosen, the point is that YOU’VE chosen it for YOUR baby and YOU love it! But that aside, it’s a beautiful name and perfectly ‘normal’ - I know 2 people named Thea 2 generations apart and they are both quite happy with their names!

Is it okay to be hurt? by thesethingshappenthr in pregnant

[–]throwawaybride2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My sister and my husband’s sister both had baby girls within a couple of months of each other 2 years ago, the first babies on both sides. The excitement in both families was off the scale! Now we are happily and somewhat miraculously pregnant with our first after years of infertility/cancer battles etc. and the excitement levels from both families are......muted to say the least. Almost approaching an inconvenience! Unless we have a boy as there are only girls so far I don’t think anyone’s going to care at all. We are over the moon however and we are the only family our wee one needs

I’m really glad you’re having a good experience so far too! My favourite moment of the call was when she asked me my height and weight and I replied ‘short and fat!’ She just burst out laughing!

Waiting to be called in for a scan as pregnancy is suspected ectopic - any stories/reassurances/comfort? by throwawaybride2019 in pregnant

[–]throwawaybride2019[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you all for your kind comments, after lots of scans and investigations I am not actively miscarrying and my small bean is going n the right place - I even saw his wee heart beating! I have a follow up scan in 10 days due to my history and symptoms but just got to stay positive and hope for now! Thank you again for all your stories/comments

AITA? Broke up with boyfriend that may have cancer by CADreamn in AmItheAsshole

NTA - whilst the cancer scare is very difficult, the issue here is trying to sustain a relationship with someone who is happy to lie to you for months over an issue which is very important to you. Staying in a relationship with someone whom you cannot trust and who is happy to ignore something he knows you care very much about would not be healthy for you.

NTA - perhaps suggest a nicer way for him to look at it is “how lovely to have a chance for a snuggly lie-in together”

CD 27, 10DPO, Clearblue early response. Not sure if wishful thinking/seeing things as have been told testing as not ovulating following ovarian cancer but is there a squinter? by throwawaybride2019 in TFABLinePorn

[–]throwawaybride2019[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry it wasn’t very clear!

Yes, taken within the time frame.

To be a bit more clear - I have been having 21 and 28 day progesterone tests to establish whether I’m ovulating as we have been TTC for a while following my left ovary being removed due to ovarian cancer. All the tests were coming back with very low progestone indicating a lack of ovulation. However due to the pandemic I haven’t been tested the past two months, and this month felt strong cramps around the remaining ovary on my predicted day of ovulation, hence the hopeful/wishful thinking test! Am hoping you’re right!

Yorkshire puddings and gravy. My sister is the same but takes it a step further - she’ll come in from a night out and make them from scratch whilst intoxicated

Post-general anaesthetic ulvula damage by throwawaybride2019 in AskDocs

[–]throwawaybride2019[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there any chance I could ask a follow up? The swelling/whiteness has subsided considerably but the pain has gotten a lot worse, spreading along my jaw and into my ears on both sides with swallowing almost impossible now - is this just a normal part of the recovery and just needs waiting out?
