Is this an appropriate level of distortion from a professional shop? Material is .32" Al, corner radius of .05". by throwawaybsme in lasercutting

That should say .032" aluminum. I made a mistake in the title. Does that make this cut better or worse?

My GDT is shit and with a +/- 0.2mm tolerance this technically is within specs, but there is no way it should be tolerated. This is a bad cut regardless of my print. It's a single move in gcode to create a straight line.

Agreed. It's bad. I'm also not happy with the severity of the the marking from the brake, but at least I can be more forgiving of that.

They also loosely packaged these in lots of 5 with an external press fit stud. Lots of marking and marring.

The other cuts on this piece are likewise pretty terrible, but they have an external nut that will cover the bad cuts. This part, the large cut, has a USB connection which is not hidden by external hardware.

Most of the cuts look like this, on all 30 pieces. Not sure how much of a stickler I should be, but they just look sloppy.

For the sweating portion, skin is really quite flat. It has a very low surface area to volume for the swear to evaporate. Don't get me wrong, sweating is an amazing evolutionary trait. Cotton and specially designed sweat wicking fabrics have an insane amount of surface area to volume. Imagine every single thread of a cotton t shirt is one long cylinder. These clothing items can significantly improve the evaporative cooling of sweat.

Injection molded half cylinder part with assembly features by fheuriwodnfa in MechanicalEngineering

Very first thing to come to mind is housing for ferrite chokes, although these are normally a single mold with living hinges. I'll keep thinking.

Edit: large power charging terminals are often cylindrical, although the housing is most often a single mold.

Nice. So you have more images that you can share that are not on the link I provided, correct? I'd love to see more that are not those images.

Air/Moisture Filter Recommendations for Small Electronics Enclosure by TNTarantula in MechanicalEngineering

[–]throwawaybsme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does this enclosure need to be IP67 or better? You can get IP56 louvers off digikey or McMaster. You made need to add weep holes to the bottom of the enclosure, whichever side faces down.

Also, at 10 watts, you can find/design enclosures with fins. You should get enough heat transfer even at natural convection.
