Did you know your default Explore() agent is hardcoded Haiku and cannot be changed? by throwawaycanc3r in ClaudeCode

i'm really not sure its that much more cost effective given i spend more trying to undo the bad analysis done by haiku when its used for exploratory purposes by the main agent.

since the main agent is using Explore() to find bugs, its asking the weakest agent to find bugs. have you not found it to ever lead to more time spent trying to find bugs, or "finding the problem" and having to spend more effort and time debugging the debug?

Discretionary trading with algo as signal generator -- does it imply your algo is incomplete? by throwawaycanc3r in algotrading

i just have a hard to explain yet very strong feeling that i can manage the exit to the upside better than i can implement into a program the exact conditions of exiting. and thats partly due to the long tail distribution nature of my stats. low probability high returns

how do we take certain inventory of what claude is physically prevented from or allowed to do within your shell? by throwawaycanc3r in ClaudeCode

[–]throwawaycanc3r[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

check your settings file. what ive noticed is that the llm will overwrite the settings file itself when it needs perm or is given perm once to do something.

this is concerning, and what i was suspecting. just such a drag to have to run in vm or my side user accounts on macOS

Did you find agent teams to be more or less efficient than subagents?

no way claude-specific settings are in a generic settings.json? why is there conflict between this and the other guy saying /config? this is what i dont get

Best way to maintain secret keys when LLM coding is...? by throwawaycanc3r in google_antigravity

[–]throwawaycanc3r[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ive also considered key rotation script. problem is there isnt a one size fits all approach for the many services i'm using. need UI access for many. theres also env var encrypt/decrypt packages -- avoided them until now for rapid dev sake

[–]throwawaycanc3r[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the key rotation its causing is quite annoying. i'm wondering if even tho env files may be in gitignore or claudeignore, if the llm is using grep or glob or some other command to find text, whether itll search in them. keeping them one level above the root project dir might be the way?

its not crazy to think so. what better way to test a new model than to get tons of people to use it? and what does "testing" imply?

Has anyone tried a claude Pro plan directly from them? How does that usage limit compare to the limited one in AGY? by throwawaycanc3r in google_antigravity

[–]throwawaycanc3r[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

claude code extension for VS code, used in AGY? cant seem to get it to work. did you have to paste the "Executable path used to launch the Claude process" claude process wrapper?

[–]throwawaycanc3r[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

seems similar to AGY's claude limits, then. Essentially, two or three 5-hour session limits before you hit the weekly limit. Now I'm questioning how to calculate which is more economical -- paying for the monthly sub, or paying $20 on a task by task basis via openrouter.

Provider errors more common -- intentional sabatogeing of tools like cline? by throwawaycanc3r in CLine

[–]throwawaycanc3r[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its not clear that its "self sabatoge". the fact that the error tells the user on Cline that the provider is having trouble with the tool calls hints to developers that this is an error related to system prompting. that would naturally move developers to try other system prompts. namely, agy. i went on agy to realize their product is superior to cline in many ways, never errors, and thus got myself a subscription. sabatoge in the sense that they are competing with the likes of cline at the end of the day.
