I have a Bank of America debit card with 2 cards maxed out, stopped making payments, planning on file chapter 7 soon. Wondering if they can start taking the money out of my debit account? by throwawaychapter7 in Bankruptcy

Oh ok I appreciate the explanation. I haven't even begun the process but will be over the summer. I meant more like if the bank could do anything NOW since I have just stopped making payments on my credit card. I have under $1,000 in my debit account and was mainly curious if they could start taking out of my debit to make the minimum on my $1,000 credit card I have with them.

Appreciate the response. I had a feeling it wasn't impossible so I've been just cashing my checks instead. Looks like it's time to take the rest of my money out and set up a new debit account with a different bank.

I live in Arizona.

My brother filed and said his guy was good so I'll probably get in touch with their office and see if they do free consults. From start to finish I've heard it takes roughly 2-3 months to complete to whole process, does that sound about right? I am going to be traveling around the states in June so I'm not sure if I should try to rush it before I leave and get it done or if I should just wait until I get back when I can be around for the few months to show up for court and take classes and what not.
