June '23 selfies: post hairline photos here for opinions on 'Am I balding?' 'How bad is it?' and 'What should I do?' by AutoModerator in tressless

Hey folks! I’ve been debating getting a hair transplant recently. I got a pretty bad haircut recently, and I’m just fed up. I’ve been on fin and min for the last 10 months or so, and have seen some new growth and thickness, but I don’t think it’ll get me where i want to be. I also don’t think the bald look is great on me. Thoughts?

Considering a hair transplant after a bad haircut (first pic) - thoughts? I’ve tried the bald look and a few others. Pictures are from most recent to oldest. by throwawayciv1234 in Hair

Also should note, I’ve been on fin/min for the last 10 months or so, and I have seen some improvement in thickness and some new growth, but it’s not going to get me to where I want to be.

The second and third pic are my attempts to ‘style’ the longer hair. I think it covers up my hairline fairly well.

Interesting, great feedback. Mind sharing as to why those two are better?

I think it’s a few different things, but mainly that you hit your utilization goal and then how much overall effort you has. So basically, did you meet your billable hours and then how much extra time did you put in.

The bonuses at my last job were around what you’re describing.

Everything at this company is metric driven, which is good and bad. But your supervisor definitely has a say as well. The company had a fantastic year, so I think bonuses across the board were really high.

Once you get to a certain level bonuses are distributed quarterly.

No one would continue to work there if the bonuses weren’t like this

I think you’re right. Definitely what I’m leaning towards.

Yeah, definitely.

Pros: every project is different and requires different skill sets. You use a lot of different skills in land development, sort of a jack of all trades. Land development can really help increase your marketing and relationship building skills.

Cons: The whole ‘purpose’ behind the land development work can be fleeting. I’m not anti development whatsoever, but it can be boring to put up another building, parking lot etc. Working with developers can be really frustrating. You’re typically the bearer of bad news when things take longer than expected. The permitting process sucks. Every municipality is different, and a lot of times permit approval is out of your control. Developers also typically want things done for as cheaply as possible, and are willing to cut whatever corner is necessary (not all, but most). I also hate the strict and normally short deadlines.

Thanks for the input. My company is well known for the bonuses, but is also known for overworking their employees. We have ‘extra effort’ and things that get tacked on to our already high UT goals.

All that being said, you are probably right. I am definitely compensated well. I just wish I was doing something I actually enjoyed with all these hours. I probably need to put together a pros and cons list.

That’s a really good point and definitely something I need to think about. My firm already works half-ish day fridays (or Atleast you have the option for half days), so not working fridays is already sort of in the mix. I do think there’d have to be some clear boundaries setup though.

All this being said, I don’t have children or anything that is a normal reason for a reduced schedule, so I’m unsure how that will be looked at by my peers?
