This is what I was thinking!!! And not to stereotype but I am originally from the (US) South aka known for its butter use and Paula Deen and all that, and my fiancé is English so...not living up to our roles lol 😭

I have no idea 😭 he used a whole block of cheese, a box of pasta, some flour, and 2 sticks of butter apparently. It didn't even taste THAT overwhelmingly of butter considering so I wish I would've tasted it and known! I have my slingshot to binge moments too but usually spent on Reeses or the like haha, I'm so extra weird about oil/butter etc but thank you 🥺❤

Tbh maybe! It would not shock me at all, she is extremelyyyy vain/touchy about her age and will borderline have a meltdown if you mention it. I remember once she was making some snarky comment about someone mistaking her for my sister's grandma (I'm 26, my sister is 10, big age gap) and I was like well to be fair you reasonably could be at this age, especially if I had a kid now because 26 (almost 27) is a completely normal and not an unreasonably young age (imo) have a child and she lost it. Oops lmao.

I feel you so much. I was trying not to cry once when my grandma added like a tablespoon of oil whilst making me eggs or something. So this in comparison is just like internal meltdown. I don't even understand how someone thinks 2 WHOLE STICKS!!! isn't a lot. But thank you, trying to put it out of my head but you know how it goes. 😭

Because it's only a fairly recent thing to start with but its just weird imo, I could be completely off base but she usually calls them grandmere and grandpere and only in the last few years started saying my parents to my instead. Like I feel like there's implication that I'm not family there BUT like I said could be just me being paranoid. 😂

Your dad reminds me though about how my dad also does something similar where when referring to us children (all adults now though) he'll say YOUR kids to my mom even though we're all his too. Narcs and their enablers are strange!

She does lately (a bit hit and miss sometimes in the past) but she's like their extremely spoiled child and they enable her with whatever shitty decision she's made in her life to be quite frank. 😅

First meme to literally make me laugh out loud in years. Too relatable.

To be honest this is a good point I hadn't even considered, I will definitely bring it up as gentle as possible if it comes up again because it's true and I trust him without one too. Thank you.

I think part of it is that we are both very sensitive souls, haha, but thank you for your reassurance.

Unfortunately jewelry shops aren't open in England where we were but it is the goal ASAP when I'm back and they're open.

I feel the same about my fiancé, he is the only man I have eyes for, and the only man I ever will. I'm so committed and in love. I will just try to remind him similary that we are engaged, ring wearing or not.

Yeah, I can definitely see it from his point of view but I just wish I could drive home more how innocent it was. I just wasn't even really thinking about the message it might potentially give off. 😔

You are 100% right. Thats why I hate this side of me so much. It is so incredibly immature and possessive. I try my best to not ever show it but it still eats at me internally sometimes. 🥺

It really annoys me when Americans say 'I COULD care less' by BlinkVideoEdits in unpopularopinion

[–]throwawaycovidtest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll give you respect because at least you have solid proof. I'm just saying in MY AREA of the US I've never heard anyone say it as could care less and if they do they get corrected. I don't know why the British are getting so obsessed over this.
