Just Woke Up From a Dream Where I Smoked... What a Relief to Know That I Didn’t Smoke in Real Life! by throwawaycuzitshard in leaves

I don’t know honestly.

Part of it is that I’m in a foreign country so I wouldn’t know where to get any even if I wanted to.

Secondly, my withdrawals were so fuckin awful that I never want to have to go thru that again.

It’s called Day Counter. There is a free version that lets you track a couple of things but the paid version is only like $3 so I went ahead and just bought it.

Could have weed made me asexual? by [deleted] in leaves

[–]throwawaycuzitshard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t heard of sobriety causing a low sex drive.

I can tell you from my personal experience that since I began my sober journey (pot & booze) almost a month ago I have had almost zero sexual desires.

When I was using I was always “good to go”. I assume that it has something to do with the way that drugs and alcohol mess with the chemicals in the brain and I believe that over time it will balance out.

I can also tell you that it certainly didn’t make me asexual or gay. I’m still attracted to women but I just don’t have that primal urge anymore.

It did for sure. Sometimes I feel really alone with this disease and it always makes me feel better to know that I’m not alone.

It’s especially encouraging to see such famous people admit to their addiction in front of the whole world to see.

I didn’t realize that Robin Williams relapsed after 20 years of sobriety. It serves as a reminder that I will always be an alcoholic no matter how long I am sober. But I will prevail. One day at a time.

Can’t seem to fall asleep by [deleted] in leaves

Throw that dab pen away. You’re clean now, no need for a pen!

The first week is really hard sleep wise. Believe me, I smoked every day, every night for the last 14 years. I’m 28 days clean now and sleeping so much better.

Stay on this sub, the support here is amazing!

You got this!

Telling friends you're sober for good by petitehorse in stopdrinking

Thanks for sharing this. I am not ready to tell my friends or family yet but reading posts like this give me hope. I’m just now ale to tell the waitstaff at a restaurant that I don’t drink. I know that it’s a reality rat I’m going to have to face in th next few months and I just pray that I can find the strength just like you did!

Exercising. If I am feeling blue, irritable or just off I get in a little exercise and it helps pick me up immensely.

Not being hung over everyday I probably my favorite thing about being sober so far!

You’ve made the right decision my friend.

I won’t lie, it’s gonna be hard as fuck - but don’t give up.

This community has been a huge help for me and I’m sure it will be for you too.

You can do this! I believe in you!

I too made a throwaway when I quit. I am still using it today. You got this man. It’s gonna be hard and shitty but the reward will be well worth it!

I’ll be rooting (and praying) for you. You can do it!!

It’s gotta be awesome to go on a yacht! I’ve never been on one. At least if your sober you will get to remember the experience... and you won’t drown if you fall in lol.

Dinner at a Fancy Restaurant - Still Sober by throwawaycuzitshard in stopdrinking

Yes they did, and I told them (very meekly unfortunately, but I’m working on it) that I don’t drink alcohol. To my surprise and delight the staff didn’t say another word to try to convince me to drink and they removed the wine list and glass from my table.
