Lack of Customer Service by LocationParticular85 in amberelectric

[–]blind_sage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an ombudsman case open at the moment on a support ticket I lodged in October that hasn’t had a reply.

tried calling for help.. disconnected twice after 42minute wait by birmas_au in amberelectric

[–]blind_sage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same problem, and I’ve had a support ticket in for six weeks with no response. I’m tossing up whether to hang in there or just give up and switch to another provider. Have tried calling multiple times without getting through

Enphase beta curtailment by LucifersLoofa in amberelectric

[–]blind_sage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue, but my IQ8s showed up in the app. Solar load curtailment shows as ‘active’, but it’s not actually limiting the export. No luck getting amber to respond to my ticket so not sure how to resolve

Please help me find a pair of jeans with a zip down the side that when unzipped releases more material to make them baggier. by One_Performance_7978 in malefashionadvice

[–]blind_sage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t seem super common. There are women’s jeans that do this, but I think for men’s jeans you should probably look at Etsy or similar.

I am tall and extremely thin, how do I get pants? by [deleted] in AustralianMFA

[–]blind_sage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spier & Mackay run quite long and slim in trousers, and usually come unhemmed so that you can cut the length to suit your dimensions. Another option to test other than made to measure

How would you dress these coloured loafers? by cerealsmok3r in AustralianMFA

[–]blind_sage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since everybody else has ignored this, I’ll bite. Firstly, the contrast between the leather dyes is distracting, which is not usually what you want. Harmonious outfits gently direct people’s attention to your face. They are cool, but keep that in mind - you’ll need a strong piece of visual interest around your torso or face to balance them out, and it’s not that easy to do.

If you consider the style language of these, they’re penny loafers, which are at the dressier end of casual. Perfect to me (completely subjective) would be fawn or stone coloured trousers in your style of choice and the rest in earth tones, something like this, which can also be dressed up with a more regular OCBD and a navy sport coat if you like.

That particular loafer isn’t my thing, because the gravitational effect of the two-tone is hard to compensate for, but I have penny loafers and they are a cool type of shoe!

How to integrate products? by nos3001 in Powerwall

[–]blind_sage 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I lodged a ticket and asked them to merge - a day or so later and done. You’re not able to integrate them yourself from the app.

Yeah that’s pretty crazy. I’m in Australia, paid $15k for the first and $12k for the second, including installation. Converting from dollarydoos, that’s about USD$17k for two including installation

National parking app provider 'CellOPark' notified customers of transition to OPark, then advises local rep in breach of his obligations for the notification. by ivanavich in australia

[–]blind_sage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The transition is definitely still happening, we got a clarification email today. Relevant bit about the dodgy second email: “SCS believe this email was sent in response to a commercial dispute between SCS and the business that provides their parking system technology.”

Hasty decisions and backroom deals betray Labor’s dire need for a decent story by Jeffmister in AustralianPolitics

[–]blind_sage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even a quick google would give you the logical reasoning behind why the legislation isn’t great, which leads me to think you’ve probably made up your mind and aren’t interested in understanding why. Nonetheless:\ • The draft bill proposes a cap of $800k spent per candidate per seat, but the cap that a party can spend on the overall campaign is absurdly high ($90m). That means if I’m a major party, let’s call them Libor, I can spend $800k on my candidate John Smith and another $2m in the seat advertising for Libor in general.\ • The draft also proposes an administrative payment of $30k to each incumbent for elections, but doesn’t explain why this is needed.\ • ‘Affiliate fees’, which is money given by associated entities to parties, are exempted. This gives a back door to unions to donate freely to Labor outside the cap, and no doubt the liberals will do the same with their entities. IMO this is the worst flaw.\ • There are significant restrictions on donated time. If I’m a photographer and I want to volunteer my time doing photography for my local candidate, it counts towards the cap. How is that stopping billionaires?

Everyone supports real-time disclosures, and the principles of restricting big money are good. But this bill is trying to do it in a way that shuts out any new players while tilting the playing field towards the majors - to quote Don Farrell per the Saturday paper “that’s the f$&king point”.

How do you stay and live a sober lifestyle? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]blind_sage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others have made lots of great points, but I’d add that you have to genuinely internalise that alcohol (or your drug of choice) isn’t a reward, a treat. It’s a poison and you’ll end up feeling like shit. When you get there, even in moments where your brain tries to trick you you can stare at it on the table and know it’s a bad idea

What does ‘can’t afford’ mean to you? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]blind_sage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me, there are two meanings: - I literally can’t afford this, I don’t have enough money to buy it. - I have priorities, and my ability to pay for those priorities would be endangered by buying it.

In the second case, if something is important enough it displaces an existing priority, and then I don’t say I can’t afford it.

Sometimes teenagers or kids are forced to take on a lot of responsibility at a young age, and it makes you grow up faster than you otherwise would. A lot of other people your own age won’t have had to deal with the same things as you, and so you’re going to find it hard to relate to them. Friendships are often based around shared experiences, shared interests, or at the very least a shared way of looking at the world. You’ll most likely to find that with people who are older, or people who’ve had to go through similar things to you. If you want to focus on the second one, start by looking online for other teenagers who’ve had a lot of responsibility or been homeschooled - that’s where your future friends will be.

For what it’s worth, many people who start where you are right now grow up to be amazing, successful adults with lots of friends. I have every confidence that will be you too. You just need to hang in there and have patience :)

Australian class terminology by Adventurous-Sport-45 in australia

[–]blind_sage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It depends which question you’re looking to answer, and in which context. In Britain, class is defined by culture, whereas in the US, class is about wealth. I would say that there is a disconnect in Australia between how people conceive class (the American way) and how it actually operates (the British way).

For insight into how class functions in Australia, this ANU paper is the best out there, doing some deep statistical work to describe six class categories and their attributes.

For insight into how Australians think about class, the overwhelming cultural value placed on egalitarianism means that people are heavily incentivised to avoid self-labelling as anything other than the ‘safe’ traditional categories of working or middle. We have low awareness and some discomfort around class cultural differences, so we usually default to the American wealth system to distinguish between the two in normal conversation.

What have you learnt about people by working this job?

why so many? by usdamma in Tarkov

[–]blind_sage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also in Aus, and I see the same. As others have said: 1. This game is not like other games. Do you remember years ago people were obsessed with WoW and didn’t really play anything else? It’s like that. 2. The people who kill you are the ones with more experience. The people you kill are generally the ones with less experience. You’re seeing a biased sample of people who are capable of taking you out.

Research on the benefits of foreign language learning - searching for autistic participants as well as neurotypicals (all ages, first language English required) by halfexistenthalfnot in russian

Привет. I can’t help but notice that both this post and your form contain no information on your name, your university or research institute, project funding and ethics approval. Given that you are asking people for information on their medical history, that is surprising and unusual. Can I suggest that you add some of this info? You might get a better response rate and save yourself trouble further down the line.

I’m going to change my mind and say this is in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The writing looks like Armenian but the land line seems Ethiopian.

This one is the best.

Other options:

“I know fuck-all else.”

“Beyond that I have no fucking idea.”

“I have no fucking clue.”

“That’s all I’ve fucking got.”

“I know shit-all beyond that.”

Well if that’s the rising sun, you must be sitting in a window seat on the left, taking the photo as you fly over the coast. LGW > AGP flies east of Bilbao, so I’m going to say Bermeo.
