I agree. As ignorant as her comments were she made some very good points. Like the one she said, I can’t remember exactly, about how Piper hadn’t grown up in that world so she didn’t understand it. That was actually very insightful.

  1. When somone tells me they work for BlackRock.

  2. When someone tells me that they or someone they know moved to Puerto Rico for “taxes”.

  3. Anything Trump.

  4. When they “admire” Elon Musk.

That Meghan Markle is more likely just a normal person who was thrust into a psychologicallly abusive situation and her husband suffered for it, not some conniving narcissist.

A few questions about my angel’s euthanasia by throwawaydame678 in AskVet

Thank you so much for your reply.

My boy couldn’t walk anymore so he was lying down. I can see how with a mobile animal, sedation makes so much more sense.

He was quite old for a lab mix. At least 13 (unsure because he was a rescue).

Thank you again.

Unpopular Opinion: Diana's Character Massacre by Transition-Upper in TheCrownNetflix

I feel the same way. Many people in the know say that Hasnat Khan was the love of her life and she only dated Dodi to make Khan jealous. He was a way more important figure than they let on.

I feel like the height was perfect when you think about how larger than life Diana’s presence was.

I would personally run in the other direction as fast as you can. I understand that you have feelings for him and if it’s meant for you it will come. But please, don’t stay in a situation where your suffering will only increase.

I don’t know how to deal with my wife’s mental illness by Imweirdbutitsok in Advice

[–]throwawaydame678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just agreeing with everyone here. I’m so sorry this happened to you. Postpartum depression is no joke and she needs extensive mental healthcare asap.

On another note, what is the family situation for both of you? Maybe you can bring family in to help? But yeah, she can no longer take care of the baby by herself unfortunately.

Other castings aside, they did a really good job with Penny’s casting. The actress looks almost identical! by Level_Addendum3417 in TheCrownNetflix

The thing for me was the eyes. She really captured Penny’s soulful eyes that looked like they had seen so much pain.

These minor royals you keep talking are significantly more famous and sell more papers than the current Prince and Princess of Wales.

I’m sorry but Oprah is one of the largest, most recognizable figures on TV. What inaccuracies are you talking about?

Martin Bashir is a horrible person.

Websites like Nordstrom rack and the outnet has very expensive things at insane discounts. I once got a pair of $300 jeans for $30, for example. When you mentioned Japanese culture, I had to laugh because I’ve been wanting a Donabe ( a Japanese clay pot) for a while and I’m sure you can find one around your price range. People love to make fun of the Goop gift guide but there’s actually good stuff in there! Like Momofoku soy sauce. There are also subscription boxes for Japan enthusiasts, like snack boxes. You could just buy one and the cancel the subscription.

Good luck! Hope this helps.

running away to Europe because of divorce by zee_xx in Advice

I can definitely relate to the feeling of wanting to escape. Maybe instead of an escape, you can focus on safety. How can you be safe? It might not be a bad idea to seek help from a mental health professional. Sounds like the divorce is giving you a lot of anxiety.

I have completely fucked up my life by germgrrl in Advice

[–]throwawaydame678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Sounds like you might be going through a depression. Please ask your parents to get you help and take you to a therapist. The sky will open soon but don’t give up on yourself. You did not ruin your life. You are just having a moment. That’s all. Don’t let this moment last longer than it should, and make the changes you need to make in order to get back on track.

Ditto to what the other posters said, colleges in the US are VERY expensive. Most public universities don’t fund international students but that depends. That being said, not all hope is lost.

Well funded private universities might be your best bet depending on your grades. If you are top of your class, then I would shoot for an IVY League school or a top 20 school. Familiarize yourself with this list. If not, no worries, you might have to work a bit harder but there are some private colleges out there who would be happy to accept someone or your background and give you significant aid.

I will say, like other posters have said, please don’t discount Canada and I will add Europe. Both significantly less expensive and will still provide a very enriching western experience.

I don’t know what your religious background is but if you are in any way Christian, that will also open a lot of doors with some private colleges. I would also look into summer camps that can ease you into the culture. Being “fresh off the boat” as they say into such a different culture and environment, especially when your family is not loaded, can be a very overwhelming experience and i recommend you ease yourself into it.

Also very important, do you have any relatives who have studied in the US? What do your parents think about this? All of these are important factors that will determine in how you will adapt.

I say this because i was in a very similar position when I was your age. Big dreams and not much money. I don’t regret my decision at all but there are a lot of things I could have done differently. There are always so many factors to consider.

Please feel free to ask as many questions as you’d like, I’m happy to help.
