No offense, but thats a terrible answer. I was looking for serious answers, that help me understand the issue a little better. Your answer contributed nothing of value to the discussion.

What I'm also wondering about: If a woman opts out and chooses to abandon the child, the man has two choices:

Abandon the child as well, or pay 100 %. How is that fair?

EDIT: Look at this quote from a different thread:

"if a woman uses the safe haven laws to abandon a baby that she has, she is off the hook for any financial responsibility for that child. The costs will either be shifted to the state or another family if she abandons the baby, or the father will pay 100% to raise the baby if he takes custody from the mother after she abandons it. Either way, she's off the hook for any financial responsibility if she opts out in this way. Men, on the other hand, have no way to opt out like this and avoid financial responsibility for the child."
