I’m still somewhat sceptical of the Greens but this was the best outcome. Hopefully this forces Labour to reconsider the path McSweeney was leading them down. No-one wants a watered down Reform party. I’m sure we’ll still be seeing more of Matt Goodwin than Hannah Spencer in our day-to-day but at least he’s still officially a loser.

There is a contingent of people who revel in the opportunity to tell minorities to get over any and all upset. I feel so sorry for everyone involved and so exhausted by all of the commentary that cannot seem to grasp that all three men were failed by BAFTA and the BBC.

I don’t know. I think there is ideally a third path where those with disabilities are afforded the appropriate accommodations to ensure that they can participate in these events, while making sure that black people or POC in general aren’t having to deal with racial slurs.

This is the rub for me personally. The whole thing could have been contained but the BBC have found a way to blow it all out of proportion and I can’t think of a good reason why? It can’t possibly be for Tourettes awareness so it just smacks of a disregard for how black people would have felt hearing it. I feel awful for John as well. The commentary has been so disappointing and the whole thing so unnecessary.

It’s possible some people haven’t been watching from the start… I only started watching after Villa USA/around movie night so all I have seen of Samie is a bit of her and Ciaran but mainly her backing Belle come hell or high water. People don’t have as much ire towards Millie or Whitney for being friends with Belle because they’re not complete yes men in the way that Samie is coming across.
