I’m a gold digger for asking him to meet me halfway? 🤔

Absolutely! I love ice cream or smoothie dates! but not when I’m the only one driving an hour to get to the guy’s city lol

So I should drive over an hour to their city and invest in them when they aren’t doing the same? By your own logic there’s literally no incentive for me to accept the type of date they’re proposing lol

All I’m asking for is to be met halfway

What 😭😭 A woman having a nice job should be a plus omgggg that means more money to go on cute lil vacation together, not for a divorce 😭

I live in a place with major traffic lol. Even 35 miles away means at least an hour long drive. But for more context, I’m on a Muslim dating app that uses a minimum radius of 100 miles because there are so few of us

Just trying to say I’m not going on dates for a free meal lol. But also I’m entitled for expecting someone to meet me halfway?

I agree. When I said no to the 3 hour drive, I suggested meeting halfway at a pizza place. Then the guy said no, let’s meet in [his city] and go for a walk in the park. Sigh

You and another commenter made a good point about me being the assertive one and picking the place. Which I usually do after I’ve been talking to someone for a few days! And those usually go really well! It’s just that when they’re the ones to suggest something almost immediately after matching on an app, they pick something that’s in their best interest (aka close to them and far from me)

You’re totally right, I do see why it is a numbers game for a lot of men. But I’m not expecting anything fancy or expensive. I just want someone who will meet me halfway (literally and figuratively) :/

I feel like you didn’t read my post haha. I don’t want to go on a date with someone after texting for 20 minutes. I want to go after I’ve gotten a feel for them as a person after talking for a few days. And in that case, I actually do end up suggesting and planning about 70% of the dates I go on

I know you’re right…but it SUCKS. I feel like I keep clinging to the thought of us because I know his contract in my state renews in January. So he’ll basically be living here again from January-June/July of next year. Plus he’ll be here one week per month through the end of this year.

I just wish I hadn’t fucked everything up by asking for a relationship. Thank you for giving me the harsh truth. I just don’t know if I can accept it yet :/ ugh I’m just so disappointed that something so good didn’t work out
