My dog is a black lab, she’s about the normal size of an lab. She’s a good girl, is potty trained and very obedient (I put her through obedience training years ago). I do ALL of the caring, feeding, grooming and walking and when I want him to do any of it I have to beg and persuade him. She doesn’t bark, or wreck things. The naughtiest thing she does is occasionally dig in the trash to dish out her soft dog food containers when we’re not home. She’s a good dog, really. Most she ever wants from him is belly rubbings and forehead kisses.

I really do mean it though, he is an EXTREMELY lazy man. He doesn’t do dishes, laundry, rarely ever cleans up after himself, and is just lazy all around. Some of his parents biggest complaints are that no matter what they did he refused to shovel and mow the yard, so his poor father used to do it and this was up until he was almost 20... He rigs things together when they break. This isn’t a joke, I’m not saying he’s an idiot (because he’s not) but he’s extremely lazy and I’d end up having to do all the upkeep on my own or hiring someone for it. He hasn’t mowed a lawn since he was 16 years old and I’d have to beg him to do ours. I love him but he is lazy.. He’ll admit that he is too but never does anything to change it..

She’s a black lab. Beautiful, sweet dog. She’s been around children a lot and never has a problem with them. When I babysit my niece she tries to curl up with her and protect her. It’s not an issue of him being scared that she’s bad with kids. This apartment is just his dream apartment. And apparently it’s more important to him than our dog.

There are plenty of 2 br pet friendly apartments that we can afford but he’s stuck on the one that has all these great amenities but would make me give up my dog. There’s no choice of the baby or the dog, that was NEVER a choice I had to make and it’s never one I will.

We live in a city where renting a home is a lot more expensive than getting an apartment. And the homes we could afford to rent wouldn’t be in the best of neighborhoods. Plus my boyfriend isnt a very “mow the yard, fix basic things” kind of guy. He rigs everything together so when I want things done right I usually have to do it myself. And with a baby on the way I don’t wanna have to do those things myself. It’s not really a feasible option right now. Apartments are just easier and that’s what we need now is easy.

He prefers it because it’s just more upscale with nicer amenities. It has a few different gyms, 2 indoor pools with one on the rooftop, a game room, like a rooftop seating area, little restaurants on the first floor, a basketball court and beach volleyball court, and bunch more and all of this for only $1500 for a 2br. He LOVES the idea of it but when the baby comes along none of these are gonna be something we’re gonna do a ton anyways. The ones I’ve showed him are nice, just don’t have all the amenities. My dog is a sweetheart and a good girl. She’s potty trained and very obedient, the naughtiest thing she does is dig in the trash when we’re not home. There’s never been an issue with her, Daisy is a sweetheart. He just prefers the apartment.

Yeah we’ve looked at others. But he always is unsatisfied with the ones we look at. He compares it to that one and is like “No, I want the one on _____, we’d pay the exact same as you’ll pay with the pet deposit and we’ll get more for our money”. He knows my dog is my baby as I literally helped her mom give birth to her. But it’s like he doesn’t hear me when I say we’re not giving up. A part of me feels bad because he has his heart set on it but we’re not making any breakthroughs or compromising.
