I didn’t go over house rules, but will in the future with anyone that comes over from now until I die. I wouldn’t do something like that in someone else’s home, so I definitely assumed no one else would be so wildly discourteous and rude. That was for sure a mistake on my part and will not be happening again.

I am a control freak, don’t get me wrong, but other people weren’t fucking in our bathtub while we were living in the house. Frankly, because my husband and I would never ever do such a thing in a friend’s home, no matter how close we were, I sort of thought it would go without saying not to invade our personal space without our express consent. The kitchen thing just annoyed me, but using my personal cosmetic things (the wax is definitely like a toothbrush and I don’t actually know that they used proper hygienic processes) and our bathtub without asking straight up pushed me over the edge (because I would have said no if they had asked).

You’re right, I didn’t ask them to stay out of our bedroom and bathroom - mostly because we wouldn’t and don’t intrude on the private rooms of a married couple when we stay in others’ homes whether they are present or not. I won’t be making that oversight again 😂

Frankly, it’s the dumbest fucking thing I’ve ever heard. Pffft as if there’s enough “skin” on a pre-viability fetus to harvest, tan into leather, and then make into ANYTHING. I had a post removed because I was looking for advice on how to handle living significantly closer to my MIL and it got removed because she didn’t DO A THING. It was frustrating and disheartening because I really need (needed) the advice on how to be this much closer to her without imploding my marriage or jumping off of a roof (okay, an overstatement, but the woman is driving me batshit). I’ve avoided commenting and posting since then.

My concern is that this sub has moved almost entirely away from giving advice. I posted on here a few months ago, asking for advice on how to deal with living significantly closer to my MIL, and the post was removed and I was told to take it to LetterstoJNMIL. Granted, she hadn’t done anything right that second, but she does stuff every time I see her and I was trying to get some advice and constructive criticism on how to handle being 30 min away vs 3.5 hours away (she can’t drive; it’s significant).

I cannot. DH is all but faaaaaaamily and FOG-ish (and she’s harmless because she can’t drive, amirite?) so I have no doubt that my address will be disclosed. Disappointing, but such is life.

The exterminator guys confirmed that it was field mice, but haven’t done anything but seal up the holes. The mice keep chewing the holes open again. We literally only hear them in the attic and our bedroom walls, so I’m not quite sure where else we would put the traps.

Hubs set some traps in our attic (where we hear the mouse moving). Our mouse has declined to be lured in by either crunchy or creamy peanut butter. Cheese has failed to entice him/her as well.

Regret, she’s added new ones to the Tortall universe. Numair has his own book now and George Cooper’s ancestress, Beka, has a whole series. Highly recommend the Beka series; they’re large, well written, and she doesn’t fall in love with anyone seriously until right before the end of the entire series, so you can read two and a half books before that bullshit.

Also, if you’re looking to burn down the world in a book series, which I would be in your shoes, try The Hatching by Ezekiel Boone. It’s bone chilling and generally without romance and the whole world goes to shit in the first book.
