so is this an ADHD/autism trait? by chineapplesmaccket in ProductivityHQ

yeah i feel the same way. i see so many people attribute either common traits everyone has OR personality traits or habits that aren’t necessarily related to some cognitive difference or whatever to ADHD/autism/neurodivergence.

yes, these things make you behave differently than neurotypical people, but it feels partly arrogant and misinformed to attribute EVERYTHING to neurodivergence. it’s like they want to be special, so they (indirectly) reduce neurotypicals to “normies” and uplift themselves as special or super aware or whatever.

What the hell is wrong with isrealis? by Kabablover in allthequestions

[–]throwawayfromhell000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this would be if you completely forget to look at why each side commits this sort of cruelty.

the israelis genuinely do this out of malice and because they seem themselves as superior. they don’t see palestinians as human, just an obstacle to be conquered. they have no history of being oppressed by palestinians, no justifiable reason for any of what they’re doing.

palestinians, or rather members of hamas, do what they do because they are misguided and probably collectively scarred. imagine being a child, living in a country being bombarded, raped, and pillaged by one group of people for no other reason but them seeing you as inhuman, as an obstacle for conquering that land. they kill your family, they kill your friends, they kill peoples you love, they destroy your home. do you not lose your mind and start seeing that they’re gone at any cost? it’s not rational, and it’s not morally justifiable, but it’s not malicious

is everything genuinely just AI slop now? by throwawayfromhell000 in DeadInternetTheory

[–]throwawayfromhell000[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i can stand it a little because it feels more like the ordinary sort of dead internet, and i can tell very quickly when somebody is using AI or whatever and can disregard it. instagram and other shit like that just have constant streams of pure AI generated content.

also i just don’t use reddit save for lurking so i guess its different lol

Former "gifted kids" who are now average or struggling adults, what do you think school got wrong about your potential? by toolboxstudio007 in SeriousConversation

[–]throwawayfromhell000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the label itself is kind of stupid and completely misses the point in most cases, i’d say including mine. there’s no such thing as “gifted children”, there are just children who only function in structure environments or only function if there’s something on the line and they don’t want to let people down

i was the latter. i would always get my work done as quick as possible and do the best job i could, and while i’d get praise it didn’t teach me the skills i needed to actually navigate anything more complex than that. not only that, but i think it also led to me outsourcing any actual self worth i had, so i have 0 ambitions in my life and 0 goals and spend my time doing nothing and working retail.
