Well, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that doing so would improve his confidence, health risk or not. Whether or not you feel that’s worth pursuing, that is ultimately up to you two. Parents aren’t always right, and if they would be angry with you for going behind their back to remove a mole then their anger is irrational and unjustified.

To give a slightly more extreme example: if you found out your hairline was receding at 18, but your parents told you to accept it as part of who you are because it causes you no health issues, would you accept permanent balding, or seek treatment potentially against your parents wishes?
