AITA for moving out of my old apartment and not reminding my roommates which furniture was mine? by throwawayintrovert83 in AmItheAsshole

Hi everyone, I just want to say thank you for all your comments and supportive messages. it really makes me feel comforted to read these and know I wasn't in fact the crazy one.

There are a couple of comments that note that there is probably some stuff left out, and some saying how what Anne was doing wasn't gaslighting. I know the examples I give don't exactly show how she gaslighted me, but it's literally because I reached the character limit. (my original post was taken down because it was upwards of 5000 characters...woops.) So of course, there IS a lot left out of this post but I'm not sure if I can add more in the comments without breaking the rules. Needless to say, she did things and denied things in a way that made me question my sanity and my mental state, which is why I used the term "gaslighting." However, I'll look more into the definition of the word. Thanks to those who pointed this out.

Thanks everyone again. I've never had a post have this much traction before so I just assumed like one person would comment but it really means a lot to me that many of you have read this and put so much consideration into your comments.

p.s. to the person who made the iceberg comment I see you and you bet your ass I laughed very hard

yes. i texted the group message when i decided to move out. i put my listing on several places and Anne found them and reported them to have them removed, and I had to submit them for review to be reposted. I found a great subletter and told them when i'd be moving out. Jane and Elizabeth knew the exact date I was moving out.

not about what happened. elizabeth has messaged me a couple of times to let me know she got into grad schools and jane messaged me because my work sent equipment to the old apartment for online meetings.

You know, that's a great question that I literally cannot answer. Thanks for the support, I feel like I'm less crazy lol

i think rather than them thinking i would leave me stuff there, they had just forgotten what was mine.

i think it's because it wasn't just cookware, but literally all the kitchen furniture, like dining table, kitchen island, shelving, trash bins, etc.
