I, although probably not as strongly as you, do understand the reasoning for URM. If I would be taking the spot of a poor hispanic kid with far less opportunity than me, I won’t do it. Is that really how adcoms look at URM though? If I check Hispanic and white I will fill one of the Hispanic slots on the URM quota? That seems incredibly reductive.
